Peter Senior shot 68 to finish in a tie for 3rd at the difficult Carnoustie Golf Course in the Senior Open Championship. The weather was unusually kind at Carnoustie this week and Peter hit the ball well but has continued to struggle with the putter. However four birdies (three in the first four holes) had him complete the tournament one under the card and clubhouse leader.

The Senior Open was won by Bernhard Langer (5 under) one shot ahead of Corey Pavin.

Peter travels this week to Sahalee Country Club in Seattle, Washington for the US Senior Open. This is his third major in as many weeks. Peter now lies at 13th on the money list for the Champions Tour.

Rebecca Flood is in the field of this years Womens British Open at Royal Birkdale after a solid round 2 over in tougher afternoon conditions at Hillside golf club. She will tee it up for her first major as a professional after a good start to the season on the Ladies European tour. Good luck Bec!!

Do-Hoon Kim has broken through on the Korean Tour winning the Kunsan Open on 11 under par at the Kusan Reed Country Club Course. He won in dramatic 6 hole playoff, hitting his final shot to 30cm and taking victory. Congratulations Do-Hoon !!! Well done

Euan Walters wins twice in Australia. Euan is in top form at present having won the last two Pro Ams in Queensland, The Meng Group Tyres and Mechanical in Mackay and the Pat O'Driscoll/Auto Group Pro Am at Yeppoon. These were both four round tournaments of $50 000 and $100 000 respectively. Congratulations Euan!

Today, Marc Ong of Singapore Sports School won the Warren Amateur Open. The last round was cancelled due to rain so as the 2nd round leader he was declared the champion. The 14 year old shot a brilliant 68 in round 1 from the gold tees and a 2nd round 76 to take a 2 stroke lead. Well done Marc.

It is important to look at how the right side of the body is performing. Both halves are critical to a successful golf swing not just the lef-sided swing. The right-sided-swing, though, has been labeled as revolutionary and crazy, but in reality, it's fundamental.

Today in Japan at the 1st stage of Q-School, right sider Scott Barr was the winner with a total of 23 under par for the 4 rounds. Scott won by 4 strokes and now moves on to the final stage.

National Ranking game at Sentosa/Keppel, Marc Ong shot a final round 70 to come in 2nd place, 1 stroke behind Jonathon Woo.

i have question about the rss. During the swing, is there any weight transfer to the right leg? or is it just a upper body dominated swing?

just saw the link you posted, haha thanks. it helps me understand it a lot better. but i still dont get the part about weight transfer. is there any weigth transfer on the backswing?

what i dont get is the grip and the backswing,... are you suppose to go more inward or outward.. and bout the right hand staying at the same angle throughout the swing

After some pointers from ur clubfitter (u know who)... I suddenly remembered all the lessons and drills we had and everything clicked! Today, I was hitting balls with much ease. Didn't realise it was that easy (but truthfully, one needs to understand certain concepts first).. still the swing needs working on but I think it's almost there... Got all the angles correct today, I think.

Thanks mate... Am really happy today to be able to experience how RSS hav worked for me!

PS: Think I need a refresher lesson with u soon... just in case some weird swing thougts come in! Got a couple of questions for me....

It is simple to understand if you consider the weight of the body in two halves, top and bottom. When shifting weight, you must not shift the lower weight to the right leg because your top weight will counter balance and move to the left side which is opposite of what you need to do

Golfers who try to shift weight in the traditional swing with their lower body generally look like this!



This is a good example of shifting weight laterally with the lower. The top weight is now more on the left than the right side of the ball. This is a reverse pivot



As you can see from picture above, the top weight is behind the ball at the top of the backswing and more on the right than left side of the ball. Look at the differences in the lower weight in both examples. The lower is forward and upper is behind the ball

The reverse pivot example feels like a weight shift but it isnt and the RSS example doesnt feel or look like a weight shift but it is.

It is about getting the top and bottom in the right order. Easy to do if the set up is correct and you turn in the right direction

Apart from travelling all the way to the oher end of the island (I live in Tampines/Simei), is there anywhere else that offers lessons on your method and technique? I just can't see myself travelling all the way to RCC for a lesson or a bunch of 'em.. Please help?
