I think your comments are ridiculous.. 

What if you decided to travel down to Ghim Moh to try this famous Char Kwey Teow and realized that the stall is closed for business ? Would you be cursing the stall owner and posting it online for giving lousy customer service and that he should have informed you that he couldn't make it for business for some specific reasons..? 

If you had gone down and asked him to re-shaft your R7, perhaps he would have told you the same that he doesn't do it, and perhaps you would have asked him why and perhaps he could have given you a better solution etc etc.. 

You thrashed him cos he replied "Sorry I do not reshaft R7 irons." ? Would you feel better if he had said "F Off.. You cheapo.. 7 years old lousy irons you still wanna reshaft?" ?? 

If you had taken more time to find out the reasons why he doesn't wanna reshaft your irons, perhaps you could learn something new, which I just found out.. 

If you are so convinced and comfortable about this set of irons which you would like to reshaft, why didn't you ask him or reply him and pursue this with him? Why spend your time bitching it online here?

Lastly, if you think he is absurd and rude, move on and find somebody who would do it for you..

I once went to a well known fitter, spent more than 1 hour and hit more than 80 balls, and then was told I was an inconsistent player and thus he didn't wanna fit me there and then.. Did I bitch about it? No, I went to somebody else who spent few weekends in his shop to fit new shafts for my irons....  

Spend your time wisely, and you would play better golf and become a smarter man.

Club fitting is both an art and a science. It is science because of the different specs of club heads, shafts, swing speed, smash factor, launch angle, etc.. It is an art because the club fitter needs to be experienced enough. Having said that, to try out most of the shafts available just to get the best results is not a good piece of art IMHO. Too much trial and error really and the golfer may not have the stamina to get the optimum results. I would think a good club fitter should be able to zoom in to just a few shafts (within the budget of the golfer as well) and the most suited shaft can then be determined unless the golfer is inconsistent in his golf swing. Just like the zeroing of rifle during our NS days. You can never zero the weapon for a lousy shooter and I applaud the club fitter to turn down the business for golfers who are really inconsistent. Of course we have come across club fitter who believes that beginners should be fitted but that is a separate discussion altogether.
