Anyway, I've said too much. Think the haze got to my brains. Don't really debate so much.
Just feel that we got to be fair to Sigma or any other fitter for that matter on their practices.
If all fitters are the same then we won't have choices.
Don't expect everyone to accept my point of view on this matter,
but glad that it is a civil and open discussion.
Cheers folks. Going to play snooker since can range =(

@DLWL, Bro, it's great that you know what you want and what you need (0.5" more) and that's precisely why you have to tell the tailor your preferences. But how many of us amateurs know what is best for us? How many of us can feel the difference of 1 swing weight like Abadan? We go to club fitters for their advice isn't it? If one likes to try many variations, then it will be never ending. Shafts, head, grips, length, weight, looks, etc.... Can we try them all? What if your tailor gives you every possible Combination of color, materials, style, size, accessories, etc. to try? You consider him as a good tailor then?
Anyway, I wish I am as good as you guys but unfortunately I am still a seasoned beginner and I am not much a "feel" person. I go by results only. And yes, it is objective discussion here and no hard feeling at all.
Now why didn't I think of playing snooker. Enjoy!

I don't have an opinion either which way. Last I checked, Seb has offered to catch-up with me for teh and tcss I have no ill-feelings towards Seb or Sigma.
Every fitter is different. Different styles, different approaches and different reactions (from their customers, obviously). What sets the best apart is their willingness to learn from their mistakes and do better because, as they say, the customer is always right. It's the nature of business anywhere and everywhere. I'm not saying that Seb isn't learning from his mistakes - rather, I'm saying that mistakes do occur and people learn differently.
For those who are anti-Seb, remember that there's no such thing as bad publicity.
My only regret from this thread is not trying to convince Sunny to remove the dice-roll function when I had a chance. That said, TGIF!

a fitter driven by profit will only let u test Diamana (becoz he makes 100profit, *just a arbitrary number btw), but won't let you test Xcaliber (coz only makes 20 profit), though the performance difference is only 3 yards. Would a normal consumer know? Probably not. Unless u read a hell lot or test ALL the shafts available, how would you know? All businesses work like
And by that u will mean most club fitters will recommend products that will suit the customer best and also achieve sizable profit?
In laws of economics, what you pointed out is true. But that is taking the extreme point
Human nature and relationship plays a part too in business. Business people always offer good service and some discounts, to entice customers to return.
Clearly from the feedback, that is not Sigma's modus operandi. Then again what I gather is he provides direct and honest feedback. Also not wrong if people look for that.
Dats why some people swear by Sigma, and some swear off Sigma. Isn't it? Some like his directness and thorough methods, while others like short and sweet fitting experience.
but ALL fitters work based on returns and profit. Even if they appear to give sweeteners. Let me know which fitter makes loss, I got things to buy =)
Like some bros here mentioned, If you don't like his style, dun go. If you suspect he is fraudulent, go make a police report. Accusations online has soiled his reputation without the rest of the forum members being clear of the outcome or truth. Its very misleading. I have heard of other reputable fitters also accused of fraud via some of my encounters with forummers, then that forummer proceed to tell me he has contacts to get cheaper deals. Makes me wonder if that is some conspiracy going on.
+1 super like on the conspiracy theory

So assumption there are 2 types of customers that go to fitters:
Those who are clued in: these are golf literate folks (as well as those who are beginners but are passionate and positive and open to learning more about the sport and its various collaterals incl fitting) who makes it a point to find out everything about the sport: history, culture, technology, brandings, marketplace. They are especially interested in all the various technical elements that go into golfing that can be tweaked to improve their game : from the kind of balls to use to the spikes under their shoes to the CPM of their aftermarket shafts. Some say they are equipment sluts whilst others would say they hv indeed been deeply poisoned! They may hv both deep or shallow pockets but all things being equal, they are more interested in how fitting technologies and have a lust for aftermarket equipment can improve their play perhaps more so then spending the same amount of resources ($, energies + time) to improve their swing under a coach. That last sentence is bound to open a can of worms but I daresay most first time fitted players have only recently acquired an entry level basic consistent swing prior to fitting. Of course many would still go back to their swing coaches to finetune their play with their fitted clubs but I reckon being fitted they would now probably listen more to the fitter’s advice than that of the swingcoach and probably improve their game on course rather than at the range. For these golfers who already bought into golf fitting, you are the kind of clients whom I am sure are gg to be repeat customers esp when u see an improvement in your game…
Those who are clueless: These are golfers (new or hv been playing for many years) who just wanna play golf and are often frustrated by their inadequacies and having friends who are fitted or on reading about fitting decided to make that first exploratory visit to the fitter to see if a miracle can also happen to you asap. Most times they would be greatly disappointed as many incl myself will be intially rejected becos of an inconsistent swing or a busy fitter having no time to look at your off- the-shelf mass marketed CB clubs bought during the last GSS. These same golfers are generally not well versed in the various golf technologies eg forged vs cast heads, blade vs cavity back, FLO, kickpoint, spin, lie angle and a zillion other idiosyncracies and find it hard to appreciate the advice given by the fitter (and assume its all guesswork, hit and miss or trial and error judgements when infact its probably very good advice distilled through years of fitting/ golfing experience akin to a senior doctor diagnosing a patient in denial of his/her own ailment). Also they would be equally mesmerized by the variety of shafts/ heads available and its endless combinations. Many will faint when they realize the prices of some of the premium shafts / heads on offer…. [/font]J For these folks I would seriously suggest you take the trouble to understand the game a bit more, do a bit of reading/ research into its accompanying host of technologies eg importance of bounce on a wedge, loading on a shaft, MOI on a clubface etc… or at least have some working vocabulary prior to gg to see a fitter. Also good to visit the marketplace / internet and check out the state-of-the-art equipment and its accompanying price tags… Its always good to have some knowledge under the belt rather than very little or worse none when seeing a fitter cos otherwise the fitter has to really “talk down” to you in simplistic terms and language…. not in a negative sense…. And still you will walk away clueless

Flat Line Oscillation (FLO) Each shaft has a stable bending plane. That is the point where the shaft will stay on plane when in motion. To locate this, the club is clamped in a vice and the clubhead attached. With the assistance of a laser, the precise alignment is determined where the club stays on its 3 o'clock to 9 o'clock plane with no circular oscillation. That point is the Flat Line Oscillation or FLO. http://coronacustomgolf.com/10.html

The only label so far I know with an adjustable hosel without changing the spine is callaway.
