Vote: Worst Driving Range

me just started golfing have been to Bishan and MBGC. Have to say, they are worlds apart.
I going to try TPY since no need to buy card.

agree with TPY machine, then again its relaxing. Like seeing sea turtle laying eggs. Without having to travel overseas.... Rolling Eyes

But the place gives me a cosy feel, nice...

I feel that the ball dispenser at punggol is much slower. but then again i havent been to either tpy or punggol for a couple of months now. I like the cash card thing at tpy tho....very convenient.

OT abit...anyone has any update on the range at turf city? has it opened?

Yah I agree.... Punggol machines is very slow.

Never go to punggol range before. Must be those one ball at a time machine. Also the touch screen on the TPY machine not very sensitive.

Received an SMS from them that it will reopen on 1st june.

but should check again because it had been delayed from mar to june.
when i go to green fairways, i can see the range on grass range.
there is a lot of construction going on still!

Now we all know what to expect at these ranges, which inevitably would help us to make the tough decision when we are faced with a choice of going for Prata or driving to these ranges instead... scratch

Now I wonder whether the management of these ranges are aware of their status in the eyes of golfers, and whether they would do anything about upgrading it... HELP

I agree. Bishan range is getting really bad. although parking is free, the carpark is almost always full during evenings / night. and the worst part is that it's not bcos of golfers, but ppl who go to bishan park or the nearby coffeeshop.

as for the golfing bays, the management has decreased the distance between each bay by so much such that each bay is so close to the next one. so much so that they have to put signs to warn ppl to watch out for the other golfer's backswing! Essentially, u can't swing your driver with peace of mind, bcos u'r afraid of hitting the guy behind, and u are also in constant fear that the guy in front of u may take ur head off with his club (esp if he / she is a wild-swinging type of golfer)

Agree with Scotty.. Worse still if the other guy on the next bay is a leftie.. and practising his driver.. you will feel like he gonna hit you any time soon.. affraid

Agree too on the close proximity of each bay.

Was there last week for some practice swing. Irons are okay but when i want to use driver, will have this feeling that if i do a full swing, i might hit the person behind me.

any idea which driving range is not so packed on weekends afternoon around 3-6pm?

Most of the range are not so packed during this time on sun.

Not true! TPy ranges are quite pack on Sundays 3-5pm.

Green fairways not very crowded imo. Im usually there from 8-9pm. Not too bad bah.

I dont really like bishan's range. the mat is really dirty and lots of ants crawling.
