How far do you drive?

Yesterday, I drove like I was driving a first generation proton car with 3 wheels and a frisbee instead of a steering wheel.

My flightmate (Mr. Fabian), on the other hand, was driving like he was in the Delorean. Any faster and further, he'll go back in time.

How, so many big hitters, my drive is becoming shorter each year - must be getting old Anyone knows of a coacj who can teach a student to drive further? I been to so many...without success...

i just want to be able to drive it 220-230m consistently, with a predictable dispersion and trajectory keeping the ball within the fairway.

working hard to realize this goal.

I am of the view that if one wants to be in Div A and be able to compete, then 220m is the bare minimum...

I am trying to make it to Div C of the GR league....and hope 180m drive can allow me to survive and retain my 'card'

I think I'm maxing out at 190m-200m total and with every new swing change and success I have at the range, I'm disappointed when i get on the course......the further i try to hit, the worse it gets.....now, not only do i not have distance, i don't know whether the ball is going right or left......how now brown cow??

I'm suspicious about the tradeoff between $ / distance gained....let me know after you've tested the Ryoma.....what frustrates me is that despite the advances in technology over the years, my total driving distance is decreasing.......to shoot low, you need to drive 220m-230m.....otherwise, your putter had better be a magic wand....

No you don't need to if you're playing off white. Just be good with you long iron and wood and hybrid on green approach Obviously easier said than done, but entirely possible.

I'm getting weird results in my equipment and drives...

I learned with a Mizuno Finalist starter set and a when I was having my final game with it, I had 3 240m drives (with roll)...mostly straight or a little to the left. Driving range was in the 180m range usually.

I upgraded to a Callaway Diablo Tour driver (US) last January and my drives started going to the right. I do get my few good hits and it reached 200-220m on the course but driving range average now at 160m range if I can get it straight.

Convinced the One-degree open face of the Callaway driver was at fault on my drop in performance, I bought a Callaway Diablo Octane (US). After using it for 6 weeks, I was shooting more more straight but at a shorter distance than my first two drivers.

Now, I'm going back to my Tour model as the head is smaller and it can give me faster swing speed. I suspect my first club was significantly lighter than my current ones but perhaps the more experience guys can advise if the equipment had an impact.

i think u might wanna check out the swing weight / overall weight of ur drivers

driver 1 goes maybe 130-150m. hehe... i know, i not good. :-)

I used to hit it straight and short when i was an amateur....but after turning professional, I realized that flexibility is one of the the key factors...Having undergone lots of stretching exercises, I managed to increase my overall driving distance from 250m to 290m and was ranked top 7 longest distance in Thailand tour...

As a coach, I'd say many factors are important to hit the ball a long way....mainly a sound set-up is important, good swing, and clubs that have an appropriate swing weight for any individual...

With my new R11s with bb shaft I'm hitting avg 240-250m .

Bro SBH, good to know but cannot compared to pro lah. Just like to know how far does an 55 avg golfer shall able to drive.

I know it go down to what will be his swing speed, keep the lag, hip turn .. etc but most does most older player still can drive 250 m? Or was 250m is an avg distance that most avg player can drive? or it is only avg 210 - 220 m for most avg players?

i realise after 30, its not easy to be flexible no matter how hard i try..in my 20s, just a few of training sessions, i can stretch a lot, head to knee no problems (very good for a fat guy liao)..now i cannot even touch my toes easily and fast approaching 40 .....any diet or anything to help flexibility? Being fat also does not help, the back, and ankle cannot take it. Any help?

I'd say an avg of 200-230 meters would be pretty good....like u said it all roots down to how ur technique is like and efficiency of your swing......plus subject to physical capabilities like flexibility.....

tronos, a good nutritional diet combined with regular exercise might be able to help u buddy...maybe try cutting down on carbs during the night and make more frequent visits to the range to sweat it out! More importantly, set an achievable weight to target say by the end of 2 months or even 6 months and track your progress....that will serve as a reminder also and help you focus on your target....Hope this helps!

6 days - diet, no white carbs (rice, noodle, potatoe,etc), no sugar (coke, etc), no fruits, as much vege and meat as you want

1 day off - eat all the things you were not allowed to eat on the diet.

Repeat.
