| Hi,
It been a while and now i have started to officially learning my driver. At first try, geez the ball sliced too much to the right.
Subsequent hitting during my 1st driver lesson, all balls nearly sliced to the right...
2nd lesson on coming, decided to change my grip to baseball, able to drive the ball abit straight but no distance.
With good luck, driver can hit around 130 to 150.. otherwise is always 100 or less than 100. (Really lousy)
How about your guys? | |

| bad drive 170, good drive 250m. Interlock grip. For me the key was to have the right set-up. Struggled the first couple of times, but some minor tweaks in my set-up allowed me to drive great. It's possibly the best feauture of my game (plus it's awesome to drive far and straight!). | |

| not much different to Schulo up there. Interlock grip. 170-180 on bad drive (contact or/and direction). 200-220 on good drive
All carry without roll, and using Ping G20. I find i15 (UST Axivcore shaft) gives more distance (+20-30 meter), but could also be due to my lack of skill.

| i use interlock grip too...
good drive: 200-220m.
bad drive: 25-180m.
something hilarious happened on monday - one drive hit one of the two "red balls" at the red tee box in front and shot straight up into the air hahahaha....

bad drives 175m straight. 5m left and right from centre line. MC, you forgot to add that SS only uses a 7iron to drive. That's why the dispersion is so narrow.

| Tried baseball grip a couple of sessions at the range n went away shaking head....can go straight but absolutely no distance...
Went back to interlock grip and voila...distance immediately came back! haha...Take it easy la...not always possible to drive straight aft 1 lesson....
To ans your question, bad drive 180 - 190m. Good drive when I catch the sweet spot...220 - 230m. Currently on my Adams 9088 UL but I think the head is way too light.

| Hi all, Im also quite new to the sport (3 months) and use a TM r5 On a good drive I can hit about 250 (dead straight) For a really bad drive(slice) its probably 150 3 faiways away haha But if there is spin on the ball I can hit about 200. I realise that good set up is really the key, but I do have a problem sometimes where my driver goes insanely high but still straight, am I teeing up the ball too high? | |

| Bad Drive: -30cm to +180m, dispersion of 1-2 fairways
Good Drive: still hasn't happen yet
...and driving is the strongest part of my game...sigh. I use inter-lock grip but swing club like a baseball bat.

| Good Drives - 250yds to 270yds Bad Drives - 180yds to 220yds Yardages - assuming nil wind condition i started golf in the US hence im play in yards. For me, not over swinging is important. when i over swing, i tend to come "over the top" hence either i hit a major slice or shank it. But what helped me, is the constant reminder to keep head back and right shoulder down. | |

i had the same problem last time it's either driver + iron or wood + iron. Everytime driver works, wood stop working and everytime woods work, driver stop working. The problem for me is that with wood the ball rest on the fairway. With driver you tee it up and that gives a different feel. So nowadays I tee up low on driver so that my driver sole brush the green on the tee shot. Sort of treating the driver as a wood shot from fairway, works fine so far.

I was self taught for the first months but after that I decided to take lessons. Currently at my 6th lesson at Marina Bay GC, my instructor is Mike from Star Gold Academy. But he has said that I have a bit too much strength, still trying to get that under control haha
