Occ range balls are as good as range balls can get... what ur actual distance on the course only u know...

| I've given up with distance and tried, instead, to focus on keeping my drives in play. I'm very prone to slicing the golf ball but these days, I try to maintain a better rhythm and strike the ball with less gusto. As a result, my drives don't go as far but I don't end up spending the next 10 minutes hunting for my ball in the jungle while cursing my own stupidity.
Well, that's the plan anyway. Of course, like all plans, it doesn't always work.

*moron!!* LOL... i hv also taken same approach instead of the he-man give-it-all-u-have type of swing... and it works eh.. guess trick is not be too ambitious and play a safer albeit more satisfying game

| Yeah, the harder I try, the further right the ball goes.
Might as well take it easy, go for smooth execution and surprise-surprise, the ball does travel in a decent fashion.

Not for me... when I see that I have a dog leg right hole and I use that method to get my ball to travel right, I usually hit a perfectly straight and long ball. Typically, it ends up OB in the jungle in the front

| Not far enough. I was wondering if strong forearms is reason why some golfers can swing the club fast. As much as the core muscles theory thingy, I don't think our core muscles swing the club. body does create leverage/lag, holds things together during the swing etc but really the arms swing the club. Right? I was thinking about this after looking at Nadal's huge left forearm and how hard/fast he hits his forehands. Checked Sadlowski's arms, huge. Then I remember how big Sham's arms are. If I remember correctly Coastguy has large arms for a skinny guy note: not talking abt swing with forearms, body release type of discussion etc. just talking about pure speed, which muscles create club speed most. | |

Mine typically comes from ball hitting buggy track.

| I don't drive very far but if it can go fairly straight I am happy. I realised that if I force it, it tends to fade very right. Sigh... Now I try to be conscious not to force my drive. Sometimes it works and most of time it sill fade to the right and honestly it frustrate me. | |

| Mloy's idea of a fade is that the ball lands 2 feet right from the center of the fairway. | |

but you still arrived @ 200++ m on the fairway ......... You must have seen it in your dreams. I have never ever drove 200m not unless I hit the buggy track and take the "EPC". Didn't expect to draw you out from your hibernation with this post. Nice to have you back, my friend. When can we have a game and you can see my 160m drive.

Mloy is not a pro, lah. She's intentionally staying out of the pro circuit. If not, she'll have to ask for less strokes.

| After much work on my driver / woods. I'm getting 180m straight on the range. Might have to de-stiffen my shaft. Using a stiff flex stock shaft.

Cant agree more... so much so until the whole tissue box is spent..
@essentiale. Its normal for golfers esp beginners to include elements of buggy track, tail wind, sprinkler head etc to account for that one freakishly long drive to juice up the average. I know I hv been guilty of that. But just like some launch monitors can show a roll of 20-30m with 7iron .. we normally only look at carry. if there is water at 260m will u still try to cross ? the question was not how far carry. i took the distance from tee to ball after tee shot. if you really wanna know.. knowing that i'd end up short of it
