You know I'm and engineering geek lor.. so in some other threads I've posted articles related to trackman newsletters. What was especially interesting is how the trackman mesures the face angle and clubpath and how it changes the "old ball flight laws" The trackman newletters might be a little technical and confusing but nontheless an eye opener especially for those interested in how the clubpath and face angles affects ball flight and direction. The TSS Master has spoken .... let him be the first to go on BFG's Trackman when it comes ...

| Hahaha.. hope you guys don't get too confused when you see your attack angle, dynamic loft, launch angles, face angles, club path, swing plane..etc..etc.. Then also need to fit balls to match your driver/clubs... so you better bring different balls to the fitting session. I think what might be interesting is to see if those "water balls/proV-browns" have same performance as new balls... hahaha..... | |

| Well, I'm guessing that DGman is gonna give some lucky ppl here an experience.
I am going for a fitting session at Fuzion Golf here in 2 weeks. Called them for enquiries alr and its not cheap.
Was thinkin about the USD$400 4hr full experience that includes SAM putting lab but might stick to the USD$225 2 hr session instead.
So, what you should be getting from him is even more detailed analysis.

| ok lah...the unlucky or lucky dozens depending on how you look at it...
this is what the trackman can do...
“TrackMan is a fantastic tool for measurement and analysis of ball flight,” said David Leadbetter. “TrackMan has become an important part of our club fitting programs for Tour Players and amateurs alike.” TrackMan Data:
TrackMan Pro and TrackMan Launch are the most accurate systems on the market for understanding trajectory from launch to landing, along with spin rate and club delivery information. TrackMan gives instant feedback on the following parameters: Ball Launch Conditions Ball Speed Spin Rate Vertical Launch Angle Horizontal Launch Angle Spin Axis Smash Factor
Ball Flight Details Carry Distance Total Distance Side Distance (on Carry) Side Distance (on Total) Landing Angle Max Height Flight Time
Club Data Club Speed Attack Angle Club Path Vertical Swing Plane Horizontal Swing Plane Dynamic Loft Spin Loft Face Angle “There’s no trickery to the numbers that TrackMan provides; it’s unbiased feedback,” said Conrad Ray, Stanford University Head Golf Coach. “There’s so much useful information, that we’re probably just scratching the surface. It’s like a sports car; the numbers are phenomenal even though we presently just use a few parameters. It’s better to have more information than less.” The Technology Behind TrackMan TrackMan uses sophisticated Doppler radar technology, the same technology used in military applications that track projectiles and missiles. The radar measures ball flight by continuously transmitting radio signals that experience a change in frequency when bounced off a moving object. The change in frequency is then translated into a velocity. The multiple receivers enable the system to measure exact 3D positions during the entire ball flight. TrackMan Software module: TrackMan comes with four comprehensive software modules. Shot Analysis – this module gathers standard data on the ball and club. Because of its efficiency in gathering and evaluating performance statistics, this module is used for equipment and player testing. Teaching and Practice – this module is specifically designed for use in teaching and fitting sessions, to help individuals decide what to carry in their bag and to improve club selection on the course. This module has two applications:
Find Your Distance – allows users to develop the optimal golf bag by finding the average carry distance of each club in the bag along with the gaps between them.
Approach Practice – allows users to identify strengths and weaknesses in their approach game by hitting approach shots towards virtual green targets. Fitting – this module provides the key data club fitters need to determine the best possible match for their clients. After just three swings, TrackMan will provide optimal driver launch conditions based on the average club delivery. Gaming – this module offers three different applications: approach test, nearest the pin and driving competition. All three are designed for enhancing practice, competition on the range, promotions and corporate events. “TrackMan technology is too advanced and powerful to ignore” said Henry Brunton, Canadian PGA, Golf Magazine’s Top 100 teachers. “For me, all the applications are relevant, especially driver fitting and gap fitting. It is remarkably simple to work with and it helps educate players about everything from the shaft to set make up.” TrackMan Reports TrackMan provides the user a complete statistical analysis of the swing and ball flight with all the important club data delivered in an easy to understand, ready to print, save or email report. “We can now feel really great about the value associated with our fitting fees and the experience given to our customers. They are blown away by what they learn and experience while being fit on TrackMan,” says Tom Morton, PGA Director of Player Performance at Haggin Oaks Golf Complex. “TrackMan gives us something to advertise and something to demonstrate that we are the best in the business.”
