heh... for my standard, sand saves simply meant hitting the ball out of the sand mah...

Just have similar standards for your scores and you will have your problem solved.

| Hi everyone,
This is my first post in GR. First picked up golf in August last year, and got my PC from one of the local pros. Subsequently spent a lot of time in the driving range and the exec courses, but didnt see much improvement and began to suspect that my fundamentals werent strong enough. You see, my coach wasnt one that helped to analyse my swing properly and just kept telling me to swing on a less steeper plane etc etc w/o actually correcting my flaws, or providing simple pointers that are easily replicable.
I finally decided to get another coach to have a look at my swing and approached Paul Tudor from RSS. He provides a swing analysis with video for free, and spends time to go through this with you. I am still having lessons with him, and it is difficult with adjustments on the swing, but he uses video analysis for all his lessons and its hard to argue when you see the play-back of your flaws.
So I concur with the view that its important to have a coach that knows his stuff, and able to communicate this in a manner that is easy to understand. No point spending countless hours on the range or changing equipment w/o a good coach.
Cheers! | |

| Just recently I realized that i'm a pretty mechanical. So the right coach for me would be someone that gives key things or "formulas" to remember or follow during a swing/stroke. He would also be able to recommend drills specific to my faults. Just pointing out my mistakes and advise correction (which most pros can do) are not enough for me
I had a coach who is a very "feel" golfer. His short game is damn good, but he couldnt explain how I can do it like him. He could show it to me, he could point out what i did wrong but after the lessons, I would forget how to do it.
