Furyk from an awkward stance in the bunker does well to get the ball out reasonably close to the pin.

Tiger, green sloping from him, almost hits the flag, ball rolls well past. Tiger drops another shot. The long putt misses on the left side by 1 ball.

Furyk from an awkward stance in the bunker does well to get the ball out reasonably close to the pin. Jim misses his putt as well, dropping a rare shot.

| So now, McDowell and Jim are T1, at even par.
Tiger is at +3, T7. | |

| Hole 17 par 5 502
Another par 5, possible chance for birdie since this is the easiest hole on the course. Ernie made eagle here a while ago.

| McDowell makes a fantastic approach shot at the 18th, good look at birdie and chance to grab the lead by himself. | |

Both Tiger and Jim near each other at the fairway, 205 left. Tiger wearing sweater now, weather must be much cooler. He has to be careful to avoid the trap of the shaved edge. He is short and in the front bunker. Furyk lands on the green, but ball rolls off the back to the fringe. Guess that's why Tiger was tentative with his shot.

And he makes it, sole leader at -1, shooting a 68 today.

Furyk lands on the green, but ball rolls off the back to the fringe. Guess that's why Tiger was tentative with his shot. Tiger hits the bunker shot a touch heavy and comes up short and remains below the pin, leaving an uphill putt. Jim has a long tricky curling putt from the back of the green remaining, which just misses the right lip by half a ball. Tiger 2 putts for par, remaining at +3. Jim makes the birdie putt and grabs a share of the lead at -1 with McDowell.

| Hole 18 par 4 344 yards
Jim iron off the tee finds the fairway, ball narrowly escaping a divot.
Tiger finds fairway as well.
His approach lands on the right fringe and does not kick back to the green.
Furyk finds the green safely, ball above the pin.
Whatever it was that stopped Tiger's ball from kicking left also stopped his club in his chip and Tiger's ball pops weakly to the left.
Tiger 2 putt for another bogey, +4, T13.
Jim 2 putt for par, T1.

Yes, meticulous, methodical, makes few mistakes, and gets in a birdie putt now and then. That's the best strategy so far for this course. Likewise McDowell.

| Tiger is in trouble this round ... He ended the round with a +4! OMG! He got 6 bogeys today!
The commentator said that statistically, Tiger has not won a major without tying in the lead or leading when going into the final round ... Hard luck for Tiger ... Haiz!
GMac and Furyk share the leaderboard @ -1 after the 3rd round ...
Frederick Jacobsen at +1 and Westwood, Ernie, etc at +2

| BTW, Tiger has a full cavity-back 2i in his back ... The rest of his irons are bladed. | |

| Tiger was frustrated with all the short putt misses, while others keep making all the long putts look easy. Just not his days I guess. | |
