Hi gurus,

Can you share your thoughts and reviews on hybrids that you have used before or still having them.

Your first hand experiences on the course using those hybrids would be definitely help!

Looking for a more forgiving hybrids (3 & 4) to play on course, preferably for beginners (high to mid handicapper).

One of the most forgiving hybrids in the marketplace is Burner or the RBZ ...

If you hit them like irons, i.e. hitting down, then those "round" types will be suitable. e.g. TM R9, Cleaveland Masie, Cobra Baffler, Callaway Razr/Diablo Edge, etc.

If you hit them like fairway woods, i.e. sweeping, then the "flat" types will be easier. e.g. TM Burner Rescue..

Best is you go try them out.. Smile

IMHO, TM rescue mid, some people around here still selling. Great value for money. Cheap and good.

Eh, me beginner too so can't say give advice. Just sharing my experience while working with Iceberg on her journey to find hybrid that works (for her). IMHO, it is still the swing which launches the ball. Are you still taking lessons? If you are, better ask your coach to take a look. Smile

The TM rescue mid suggested by other bros is good. Worth to take a look.

i'm surprised adams didnt get mentioned here that often... from the A4 to the A7OS to the newer XTDs, these are ridiculously easy to launch clubs that go pretty straight - I would take one of these in a flash

hybrids are my life saver...when I ho a hybrid I look for

1. brainless hitting (doesn't require me to practice to hit it)
2. enough launch angle to promote ball landing softly, we hit hybrids to the green because we cant hit long irons/wood. No point having a long hybrid but cant stop upon landing.
3. can carry 165m on 4h, 180m on 3h.

so i've tried a lot of hybrids and my top 5 right now would be (Assume game improvement hybrids)

1. TM 09: In my bag for more than a year, still unbeatable. Why? Not the longest, but it is the easiest to hit with the least amount of practice needed Laughing Can shape shots right and left, and most importantly my ball lands so softly on the green (proven on the course). However, the stock shaft CMI, wide dispersions. Once paired with a good shaft, lagi best!. Cheap.

2. Titleist 910H: Very easy to hit (close second to TM09) and the loft adjustments potentially give me 2 hybrid in one, this is to adjust your bag setup. However, it gave me the shortest carry with F3 Motore shaft (tested on the range/range finder). Draws a lot. If you hook, you can have the fade setup. I don't like the head shape which is toe heavy but cant argue with results. Expensive.

3. Adams Super Hybrid XTD: Newest, Most Chio and Longest, most penetrating launch with Fub AX, but not the easiest to hit (fairway wood like) and doesn't land soft enough for me (on launch monitor). I think of it like an easier to hit fairway wood. Most expensive.

4. Callaway Diablo Edge Tour: Older club. Playability very similar to TM 09. 2nd longest, but the feel and sound of impact is not so shiok, bit woody. Looks also not chio. Gave me lower launch on TT Xfire than TM09. The offset on non tour model is too much to bear. Cheap.

5. TM Burner Superlaunch 1.0 (the black crown not white): Another (older) brainless club to hit from TM. Brainless means damn easy to hit the ball with decent flight, launches highest of all. Not the longest with stock shaft. Cheapest.

this is just my own opinion. different swings gives different results. that's why you gotta try to make final call. good luck.

This one is quite straightforward.

Hit them like irons.

Hybrids are meant replace long irons with something easier to hit. And designed therefore to be swung like long irons, not wood. So, treat them like the long iron they are replacing and use the same swing.

My first hybrids were Nike square ones. I remember telling a close friend, if i have to jump out of a plane i will jump with those hybrids . Lifesavers they were.

then i started hooking them, so i started looking adams and callaway tours. i have 3 cally and 4 cally hybrid now.

I use them so much. i have only 6, 7 and 8 irons in the bag. cannot even find a reason for 6 iron some days.

LOVE EM hybrids! play them like irons, hit down, sweep, chunk, top, thin, chip, putt, fluff and duff also can.
