| i have been getting a lot of golfers who have asked me if there are courses in this part of the world to learn club fitting. Unfortunately there are none.
for the benefit of those who are interested but wants to learn and eventually when they are ready, want to get certified as a club maker or fitter, there are some options open.
As i serve The International Clubmakers' Guild in various capacities, i have asked for permission and have gotten approval to start some simple hands-on experience, working on an elementary proficiency level which will include the following:
1. Regripping 2. Club head extraction 3. Club head installation 4. Simple repairs 5. Golf club measurements
there are some benefits from this exercise - like you can do some of your own or buddy clubs, you may want to learn a different skill, it may be something that will help you when you decide to dwell further into the game of golf. i am sure you will find more reasons to do so or not.
this training will be free and i will be happy to take on up to 2 individuals in training session which we can schedule based on your availability.
there is one catch, that is if you find that you want to proceed to learn more after the initial 2 sessions, i would appreciate if you can join ICG as a member. The annual fee is US$75 and its a non-profit organisation and the money is used to fund education, testing, website development and marketing, etc.
if you are interested to learn more, do give me a call or PM me or post your question(s) here. i will be forwarding this link to the President of the ICG, Mr Steve Newton who might even want to answer some question.

Cheers and have a great weekend ahead.

| Wow Eric, that's really kind of you. I've been looking for something like this for a while. I know Golfsmith in US runs such courses for a price.
I'm very interested to join.
Do you have a rough idea how many sessions there will be and how long each session will take?
Thanks! | |
