wah.. poison Twisted Evil

I need to slow down. First I need to ditch my old clubs to get financial aid withouth arising question from wife. My big game stretch start monday next week, if I change wedges and putter now I will be slaughtered by my khakis. Not playing easy courses as well, mission hill and specially jiu long shan will require lots of precision (3 iron come in to the rescue just in time bounce )

So let me see, MP-68, R7 burner 3 hybrid, TM R7 burner 3 wood maybe CGB Max R7 iron and 5 wood and the i15 Ping driver. I think can buy a couple of wedges for christmast before the next overseas games early next year cheers

Can anyone tell me if the miura hybrids are any good?

I can understand the irons and putter due to the type of metal used and the forging expertise. But for a hybrid?? I seriously doubt its as good as the titliests or the TMs etc.

Reason i am asking is because i was quoted $700 for 1!!

good luck on your new purchase.

I tried the hybrid. Its good, but i wont pay 700 for it.

Miura irons, maybe la (If i stike 4D)...but unlikely as i dont the the skills to compliment such a nice set. Moreover, its way out of my budget.

The hybrids and woods and bag.....i think you can get something just as good for a fraction of the price. IMHO

Hi FD448,

Which bag are u referring to? Is it the stand bag made by sun mountain or the cart bag?

Anyway, I think I'm close to being completely poisoned, don't think I can resist the temptation to get the irons any longer.

Up to you whether and when to get them bro. No pbm,

I just got one prediction.

If and when you finally get them, you will say, "Why da hell didn't you guys FORCE me to do this sooner??? If I had known how these clubs feel, and what pleasures they send to my brain when I hit them, I would have not wasted any time in the decision."

I'm just saying. Razz

How is it possible that the 3 iron feels softer than my MP52 PW?

I was at the range trying out the final version (I hope) of my swing, and discovered that the longest Miura blade can feel softer than my shortest MP52.

My brain tussles with the logic; how is it possible?

Lee, its not possible.... definitely no logic whatsoever.. but if logic works for you, then you'll never pick up golf...

On a separate note, I may be heading in October to KL for golf with some of my mates there, so when I do, lets arrange a game.

I myself is a man of no logic as I do not understand how my ball only trickle 3meters infront of me whenever I thought I just hit a super shot...

the mind is a powerful thing, placebo effects has been proven to exists.

if the muiras give you so much joy in the game of joy, even if i pass you some less reknown iron that is in fact truly softer both in terms of design and material used, you would still think that the miuras are softer, better, etc etc. being prejudiced for/against(whichver the case) is what is causing you to think that the miuras are indeed so soft etc etc. in fact, the whole feel thing with irons is no touch, its the sound. on well struck shots, it the sound and the lack of vibrations that give you feedback/impressions.

moral of story, play whatever equipment you like best, don't matter if its miuras or some old school Hogan apex. everyone's expectations and benchmark of what is good for them is different. some care more about looking good, feeling good, having the newest greatest equipment, whilst others just care what's the final score they write down in their score cards, whether its with some dinged up old irons, some swanky new driver, some limited edition putter, or just a overturn umbrella.

Share a bit of story about Miura that I had lately.. a friend of mine asked me for help to get him a set of irons jap spec for a budget around $400-500.

Found in the marketplace a bro selling one used MIURA MC-102 for that price with tour concept shaft.

We dealt the next day and then we proceed for a game in MBGC with his new MIURAS. Do note that my friend is not an equipment junkie and he havent heard of Miuras till that day.

So proceed with our game, on the par 3, 177m, he took out the 5 iron and was just planning to play it short and chip. Boom! it trickled into the green and since it was a red pin, he had 2 putts for par...

Again, on the 150m par 3, 15 feet from pin and 2 putts for par..

This was the first time he used his Miuras. Altogether he squeezed 3 pars and a bogey for the par 3s and many approach shots that made me lighten my pockets..

I do believe that for some , it may be a placebo effect, but my friend who doesn't even believe in changing grips, washing clubs, using club covers, club fitting, grip type, trackman etc... its been working well for him.

Perhaps if he is fitted properly, he might play better but all he believes in is himself.. cocky b*$%^d...

Well said! Just play what you enjoy most and happy with. Price/cost of clubs is immaterial.
Life is short, try and enjoy every game you play. Happiness cannot be measured by $$$!

I guess it may be assisted with the wind or just pure roll.. but his 5i typically goes 160m.. He's not very tall around 165 cm..

But I guess his placebo is he trusts his swing more than any equipment.. Its just a coincidence that I got him a Miura on that day...

The point I am trying to drive is similar to what Eiji said, regardless what equipment good or bad.. if u believe it in..it will work.....
