Anyhow, I figured your distance will be quite similar to Ernie Els. (Standing 1.91m) I saw him at the arnold palmer invitational, par 3, 202 yards (~180m) low head wind. He used a 6 iron and was short of the pin.
In Arnold Palmer invitational, Tiger used a 6i for a Par 3 14th hole; 224 yards (if my memory serves me well) ... But he was short by a lot and the ball found the bunker guarding the green ... Here is the video ... look at 0.54 sec of the clip.

Something from my flight mate from time to time in approximation S : 120m P : 135m 9 : 150m 8 : 165 7 : 180 6 : 195 5 : 210 4 : 225 3 : 240 5 w : 250 1 w : 270-280
damn frustrating sometimes to see this ppl hits so long, I did notice that he has no reservation on his swing and he deloft the club A LOT ! I just resign to fate.. i still want to have my wrist intake and he has been golfing since very very young and probaly has heaps tons of talents over my measly talents (plus started late does not help either).
But I always giggle when he is having trouble on controlled swing on aproach below 100 m and above 40m... he needs US kiddys club hahaha..

Are you sure, bro? This kinda distances are even longer than some PGA pro. Hard to believe without witnessing it myself. Anyway, his FW and driver distances do not seem to be in proportion to the distances he can achieve with his irons.

No, really, it's not that difficult, esp with a partly GI club like the MP52 with a bit of offset. In the case of my friend's club, the offset was a lot more.
And if we deloft the club, what do we get? More like a 4 iron. Deloft it more, and it's more like 3 iron.
Here are some examples.

yeah bro, he deloft on setup and then he de-loft the club. I 'm like you and I agree with you whole heartedly that it's hard to believe if you didn't see it yourself. I might sound like I'mmaking it up but ppl who has played with him will definitely comment the same and even pro comment the same according to him when he was playing on barclays singapore open pro-am.
If you like I'll try to arrange a game with him and you and maybe another guy at MBGC. he is not always available but you can see for your self and maybe it can inspire you.
Obviously he is not always straigh and ok, but long is definitely.

Lee,
I suggest you do the following to lower your h'cap: 1. Wait for the latest-generation Miuras then buy them....forget the baby blades and go for the infant blades....they're smaller and harder to hit.....just how you like them...this should help you to cut 10 strokes 2. Hang on, maybe get GI irons since they can add 40-50m (from 150m to 200m with your 9 iron)....maybe super max GI will give you 60-70m more...pls make time to get used to the offset and the fact that it is easier to hit than the baby blades......this should drop another 4-5 strokes since you'll be approaching the greens with a short iron.....
Anyway, I'm sure you'll enjoy my post since your fav post reaction is causing disbelief.....keep up your posts tho since I always enjoy reading them (well, the first 2 paras or so, after that my eyes start blurring)......even if i don't always believe them......

Have I ruffled some feathers?
Like I said, not intended to cause offence, but rather to point out what is well within the realm of possibility for the average person.
If it causes some to re-think what is possible, then it's fulfilled its purpose.
A paradigm shift is often uncomfortable. I wouldn't go as far as to call this a paradigm shift per se, but I understand sometimes a lot of our ego ride on how far we can hit it. In my case it certainly was.
I remember I was very put off too when I came across a young man hitting it way further than me. Then my ego settled down, I made friends with him, and observed and learnt. By the way, he was a pro, sponsored by Nike.
What I like to study are the swings which hit it far with seemingly little effort. Efficient mechanics and excellent energy transfer.
Cheers.

Lee, may I know what your handicap index is and your lowest score achieved over 18 holes? I hope I'm not being rude here but I'm simply curious as u do seem to have a swing that can match touring professionals, as well as the knowledge to put most teaching professionals to shame.
Again. I don't mean to offend. Just simply curious.

Yes, paiseh paiseh.
Didn't even break 100. Shot 103 or something like that on that day.
But, as someone famous said, "It's a process..." So, I will give it some time to gel.
Meanwhile, must ask strokes from my flightmates!
Tell you what, any time anyone else comes up from Singapore to play with me, I'll keep an MP52 9 iron in my bag. Then the story can go back to Singapore. How about that? Sounds good?
This site can be fun after all.

No problem. I am very straight forward. You ask, I answer.
No official handicap, have not started submitting my scores.
Scores can range from 80s to 90s.
Have not developed the swing to a point I'd like to keep, although recently seems to be close.
Got a group of regular weekly golfers who assigned me a handicap of 14-16 depending on the course.
Let me know if you have any other queries, I'd be happy to answer them.
By the way guys, do take note it is quite OT now. But happy to address any issues raised.

seems like he hit it a little fat. if he had taken a 6iron out, it means he has done it before. afterall, it's not the first time he's playing that hole, for sure.

OK la.
To cure your allergic reaction, and without the chance to play a game with you anytime soon, another avenue is this.
Roger Loo was my coach at that time. He is a certified teaching pro. He has a regular column in a Malaysian golf magazine. Those familiar with the Malaysian golf scene would know him.
At that time, he was teaching at the Kiara range. When I was hitting that distance, I went over and showed him. So.... feel free to verify for those who seem to care so much that....
IT MUST BE IMPOSSIBLE FOR A 'BEGINNER' TO HIT 150 WITH A 9 IRON!
Chill bros... chill. Just wanted to share what is possible.
