- Guys,
Anytime you need assistance, just drop me a PM. However, do try to PM me at least a week or so in advance so it allows me time to make the arrangements.
JoeYee,
Since you head up to Hanoi often, maybe you would like plan a stopover in HCMC and have a few rounds??
BTW, from what I have heard, golf in Hanoi is more expensive compared to else where in vietnam, even the tips for the caddies are more. Also, Hanoians bet really really big Bro Winston Thanks for the offer, has never been to HCM as my office is in Hanoi but I will keep that in mind. Just got back yesterday and updated my blog on the itinerary. I left Hanoi at a temperature of 43 degrees yesterday!!!(' ') http://kyjoegolf.blogspot.com/search?q=scorching Anyway, as for damages in Hanoi golf, I paid 95USD for 36 holes with Caddies, buggies, and I think with a round of water. hee hee, I don't know about elsewhere in VN, with the exception of the currencies difference, bets are I think up to you. If anyone is interested in a suggested "agenda" of a golf trip in Hanoi, you can take a look at my blog entry, | |

| After a few months playing at my "Adopted" home club, Finally managed to squeeze some time to play at Vietnam Golf and Country Club. http://vietnamgolfcc.com/golf/en/about.html
It is the nearest golf course located to the city centre. About 25mins away. It has 2 X 18 holes ( East & West Course)
Wednesday is golf day @ USD$57.00 (Incl Caddy fees)
East course is designed by Lee Trevino and I swear he copied Pebble Beach design. The roughs lining both sides of the fairways are aproximatly 1 - 1.5 inches thick. Also all roughs surrounding the green average 1 inch thick. Even the fringe is soft and spongy.
ALL greens are link style greens. There is one that resembles the 14th hole of pebble beach though not so big where by it is shape like a hill.
The most intresting hole was a the PAR 3 17th. Blue tee at 170yds. and when you stand on the tee box looking at the green, there is a tree , aproximatly 4 stories high aproximatly 40 yds before the green and on the left side. the branches block about 3/4 of the green. Since I dont know how to shape my shots, just hit and hope it clears the tree.

Thanks Hi Raquel, Which golf coures? There are a few ranging from 1/2 hr to 1 hr. Are you currently in HCMC? eeerrrmmm... For Vietnam Golf & Country Club, It is about 30mins away from CIty Centre. THis is based on Early morning traffic at 5.30am. Even at this time it is quite congested. IF you decide to play afternoon tee-off time, ou might have to leave at least 1 hour before. Traffic in HCMC is unpredictable.

| Went back to Vietnam GOlf & Country Club in the afternoon to play again. This time played the east course. And again played from the blue tee. Tough tough. The Greens as compared to the East course is so much easier to play in that it is not as severe as the East course but it sitill undulates alot. Having said that, out of the 4 par 3's, 2 were at 200 yds. First time I use driver on the par 3. one on but still pin low. And the green for this is a 2 tier green and the height difference is 1 METER!!!!!!!!! Tough Tough.... The roughs / 1st cut are much better than the East course. more manageble. However did get my longest drive today at 230yds. Happy Happy... | |
