| Over the past year I have visited the LOS on several occassions and played a few of the better courses on offer. I always like to take some shots of the courses and will post some reviews on this thread. Apart from the great courses and caddies, it is great to get over to Thailand for a cheap fun holiday. Hope you all enjoy the pictures: I will start with Black Mountain in Hua Hin. Started the day with some Srixon Z Star Range Balls You can hit off mats or grass. Brilliant short game practice areas. Here is one of the bunker and pitching greens The Tees are marked with numbers, 76 for championship, 73 for Pro Tees, 70 for Low Handicap, 65 for Men, 61 for Men (shorter), 57 for Ladies Looking down the 1st hole Approach to the 1st green 2nd Hole - Par 5 3rd Hole - Short Par 3 6th Hole - Par 5 7th Hole - Par 4. You can cross the water or play safe 8th Hole - Par 3 The caddies do a great job Approach shot to 10th hole Par 4 Scary Par 3 11th. Small green surrounded by water The course features many water features, rock walls, gardens etc. It's nice but maybe a little too fake and a bit over done. 12th Hole - Par 4 14th Hole - Par 3 15th Hole - Par 4 narrow fairway 16th Green - Nice rock feature 17th Hole - Short Par 4 approach 18th Hole - Par 5 Approach. Sky Bar looking over the 9th and 18th holes. I can taste the beer already Excellent facilities. Spa and Locker rooms The Sky bar A great conditioned golf course and facility. The lay out is good but not great. I think it is a bit too over the top with all the water features, rock walls, garden beds etc but well worth a visit if you are in the area. The greens were some of the fastest I have putted on anywhere in Asia. Not quiet like Royal Melbourne but very fast. I would estimate 11 on the stimp. We walked the course with caddies but you can take buggies. Hope you enjoy the review and my next one will be the Banyan tree golf club also in Hua Hin. Happy New Year Regards Paul | |

| In my last trip to huahin, I played 5 courses, 6 games. And Black Mountain remains to be my favourite, in terms course design and layout, maintenance, I dont mind to go there again, hopefully soon :-) | |

| My next review is from Banyan Golf Club Hua Hin. This was my favorite over Black Mountain. A real golf course with not so many bells and whistles. Unfortunately I didnt bring my A game to this course and found myself in the jungle a few times but the course was a great test and in A1 condition. Hope you enjoy Nice warm up off some grass. No mats here. Balls were not the best Practice Chipping Green Practice Putting Green 1st Hole I found the water off the tee. In hindsight I should have taken a hybrid, no need for driver here....blame the caddy lol 2nd hole long par 3 with the Banyan Tree on the left 4th hole Par 3 The Tee boxes were better than some greens I have putted on 5th Tee After a slow start I was able to hit this wedge close and make a birdie The 10th was a great short par 4 but a narrow fairway 11th Green. Picked up a birdie here on the par 5 14th Par 4 16th a great par 4 17th monster par 3. 230 m from the black tees Locker Rooms Overall a much tougher driving course than Black Mountain. I really enjoyed this course a lot and the food, staff were great. Bring a few extra balls here as off the fairways is usually a lost ball. | |

| Next Review is of Siam Country Club in Pattaya, Thailand. If you can drag yourself away from the bars and night life there are some great courses to play. This is the course where they play the LPGA event. A big and spectacular course, long and tough, the greens were very fast and a lot of slope. Fantastic condition and highly recommended. Main entrance to the clubhouse and pro shop You are greeted by a Triple Green which is something I have never seen before...huge Looking out from the terrace Not a lot of trees but the nasty red bushes surround the fairways Great Practice facilities...no mats here Practice Putting Green View of the 2nd Green 3rd Hole Par 3 4th Hole Par 4 5th Hole Par 5, over 25 fairway bunkers and the biggest hole I have ever played. The land used for this hole could easily fit 3 par 4's. 6th Hole Par 3, Long hole from Black tees, for memory around 230+m Looking back to the clubhouse 9th Hole, long tough Par 4 11th Hole going for the Par 5 in 2 Just got caught in the pot bunker. This Par 3 12th was a monster par 3. My only criticism of the course were 2 of the par 3's being too long and tough. It played 230+ m and a small green surrounded by bunkers and hazard. 13th Hole hitting to the triple green 14th Tee Shot !4th Green and approach shot 16th Green 17th Par 3 18th Green, part of the triple green Back to the clubhouse for a cold beer and some thai food Locker Rooms | |
