| Very nice pictures Asahi.. Joondalup is quite a drive up from town but it's definitely worth the visit.. Very scenic course as well.. But playing in Aussie one of the big challenge is the wind! But the public courses in Perth some is very well maintained at low rates of Aud20-30. | |

| Beautiful courses! I just went 2 weeks ago and played Whaleback and Glen Iris. Very good conditions for a public course. Not to mention the weather is damn shiok | |

| Nice pics Asahi. Played all the courses that you mentioned 2 years ago. Agree that Araluen is the coldest. That course was the hardest to find. Got a bit lost even with the GPS. LOL...But it was worth it. The Cut was nice but in my opinion its a bit over rated. But nonetheless should at least play there once. The Vines was nice but when I was there they were repairing one of the courses (can't remember which one). The greens were totally covered with sand and I mean totally. And best of all.... the weather was fabulous. It was cooling and hardly break a sweat. So much so that we played 2 rounds in a day. Different courses that is. After seeing the pics it makes me want to go back again. | |

| Bro Asahi,
U din play secret harbour golf links? Thats a real good test down under. Theres a course, 3hrs drive inland from perth up the hill, that would be by far colder than araluen. Haha..
Best greens to putt on would be Spalding Park golf club up in geraldton, 4hrs drive up nirth from perth...if u get a chance to next time...
But glad u had a great trip recently 8days of paradiso golf...

Well, I did hit one into a family of Roos......went in and hit it from there. They were quiet and watched me hit it out.

Yes, mloy is right....the weather is most conducive for golf. Hardly breaks a sweat....and that's with carrying bag and walking thru 18 - 27 holes a day. Always felt like can play some more.

| I'm thinking of doing a 5d4n trip to Perth for a wine and golf holiday. It probably will just be 2 pax playing. Anyone can recommend to me the following: 1) which golf courses should I be playing? 2) any vineyard that I shld go in the vicinity? 3) I intend to rent car and book accommodation via airbnb. Any recommendation for location to stay?
Tx in advance for the recommendations!

| 5d4n you are looking at 3 to 4 rounds. You can stay down in Mandurah, 1hour thereabout from Perth for 1nights and get 2 rounds there. Play Secret Harbour Golf Links and The Cut at Port Bouvard. The rest of the nights you may stay pretty much arnd accomodation you can find good deals from since you gonna be renting a car anyway. You may try the public courses that are cheap like Collier Park in Como, South Perth or Whaleback Golf Course. You may call up Melville Glades Golf Club, a private club but you may try a round there on a tue, thurs Pm or Friday whole day.
Vineyards you may try to drive to Swan Valley the whole stretch full of nice vineyards with some offering great brunch experience such as Sandalford. GPS would do the tricks for ya i am sure.
You may try Joondalup Resort, which many would suggest. But personally i have always find that Joondalup is overrated. Thats just me, but many will suggest otherwise.
Anyway, The Cut is a must play, then followed by Secret Harbour.

Suits yr agenda though....wine and also chocolate along that whole stretch. Would love to go back there again soon.....wanna try Secret Harbour and Kennedy Bay too.

| I played in Perth last year, 4D3N. Played Maylands Peninsula Golf Course, Joondalup, Royal Perth and The Vines. My home club Pulai Springs has an affiliation with The Vines, so we played there FOC. Only paid for buggy. Damn shiok!
As for Royal Perth, we have an Royal Johor member (now the royal status has been withdrawn) with us, so we got to play along with him. It is a club in the city, only 5 minutes drive from downtown Perth.
Will play Araluen, and The Cut next time since it is highly recommended by some of the GR members. Cheers!
