hi guys.
melv managed to capture some videos for me when we went for a round at IOI.
Edit: The embedded video seems to have problem displaying the normal speed video fully. But it's able to do so by viewing from youtube website.
Some of the probable causes for my slice I saw from the videos are:-
1) Reverse pivot - Unsure why I'm making this mistakes. It's supposed to be cured long ago. It's probably due to the too relaxed posture on the left knee.
2) Followthrough - The followthough seems to be going on an inside out path, which made the body launching forward. Should it be on the outside-in path, so that the body will maintain and rotate in it's position.
3) Head following the club during the followthrough.
Can anyone give any pointers?
And yes, the ball went into the water. I think this is Hole 7 Par 3 of the Palm Course of IOI.

Is that you in the photo? I thought I recall that you were a girl .....
From the little I can see in the photo, your club face is pointed to the right even after impact, unless your swing path is extremely inside to out, your ball is going to start right and turn right even more, probably very high launch as well.
Now, why you do that can be a combination of many factors or just one key one. I am not qualified to comment. I know this has been said many times, but go see a professional. What you think "should be" the proper way to swing may not necessarily be the best (most consistent) way to swing for YOU.
You can go by trial and error, but if fundamentally you are unable to diagnose your own errors, trying different tips has a high chance of making matters worse. Even if you are not willing to buy a package of lessons, pay for 1 lesson, find out what you need to work on, then practice that.
In Singapore, there are quite a few places to get instruction with a launch monitor. Justin Han at Seletar(?) has one, Heartland Golf at JCC recently got one. Take the guesswork out and figure out what your club is actually doing coming into impact such that you can work on how to fix it.
I wish such services were available in KL, but unfortunately, they are hard to find (if any).

I started off like many, using youtube, listening to friends and it got me no where. Until I finally took lessons from a coach and it has changed my game completely. I was also lucky that i got him before the "bad" habits set in. I gained 3 club lengths after 5 lessons and continuous practice.
Also, a golf shot is not only about having a strong / neutral / weak grip. It is about the whole body working in sync.
Go see a coach. I am sure there are many who would be more than happy to give you a free analysis
Winston,
Your coach is in local or Vietnam. Need help to increase 2-3 club length as well. Care to Pm me his contact?

Bro ChrisD ... if your swing fundamentals are bad and you hit a 7i with the dynamic loft of a 9i with inconsistent contact, seeing 2-3 club distance gains is realistic
If you shoot +1 for 1st 9 and +13 for 2nd 9, perhaps you need to work on your mental game ...
p.s. If you get any longer, you will have to change where you aim otherwise will hit through the fairway

1. My coach is in Vietnam. 2. My 9i went from 100y to 130y. 3. Based on what Derek & blee67 wrote, don't think you need a swing coach.
