| MT, i was a bit disappointed when you disturbed the charity thread. But now i am proud of you for admitting this in public.
It is unfortunate that we in life we cannot just say stuff and tell others not happy dont hear or in the forum, not happy dont read.
Your post had made the real redbull very upset as he had settled his previous case ptely and this incident had caused him to worry that this would result in the ppl he offended thinking that he is non repentent and may take action against him.
Anyway, i am glad the incident is over.
Lets move on. There are many ways to have fun in a responsible way.

| yes, i understand your disappointment. i sincerely regret and apologise that you were unable to fully control the things that i posted in the charity thread, as well as making people think that the charity thread was a joke.
it is indeed unfortunate that in life, we cannot say stuff freely and have to keep picking our words to maintain a morally upright image.
if i have indeed upset the real redbull, i sincerely wish to apologise to him, and if he has anything further to clarify with me, he can contact me at 91767768. i am also very surprised and touch that given your initial disapproval of redbull, you are now so concerned and worried about his well-being. this indeed shows your kind and forgiving nature, and i am honoured that this time, i am on the receiving end of your goodwill. it warms my heart to no end.

| I have nothing against redbull and techno would have told you that despite all that happened, we had always been trying our best to protect all our member's interest as well as redbull's.
As media owners, there are certain rules that we have to unfortunately set and follow. It is not about being a hypocrite or maintaining a morally upright image. It is understanding that we do not cause unnecessary distress to others nor get others into trouble.
If fun is at the expense of others, then it is no longer fun. We wish everyone to have fun together rather than some having fun at the expense of others

| I understand where ur coming from bro with ur sense of humour, I can be somewhat offbeat myself. But unfortunately, we live in a world where once anything is made public in any form of media, people see, hear, or read about it. And the one thing we can't control is to make everyone see things our way. Some may, most remain passively neutral, and then there is the vocal minority who chose to speak out, for themselves or for the majority. And that is something I learned the hard way too, that we have a social responsibility when we reach out to the masses in one form or another.
MT, as much as you may have raised the hairs on the back of some necks, u surely have a lot, some, few (pick one please) who enjoy being in the presence of your company. I for one do, and what some may mistake for a hot head on ur shoulders, I see as passion, made obvious in the latter part of ur apology.
Kudos for standing up and saying it loud and proud. No rotten eggs thrown so far.
Just don't suddenly disappear off the face of this forum, keep ur comments coming, as MT of course.

| aiyah, end of the day, he is still the rightful owner and moderator of this forum.
we are only able to chat in this forum cos of his hard work and sacrifices. u think it is free, the sponsorship from titleist, cobra, etc.
this is why he is so protective of this forum and the users, and also don't allow you to spout all your alphabets and numbers... he also scared we got no money to pay legal bills if we kena sued. anyway, this forum is known as Golf Republic. not Talk Cokc republic. so come here, only Golf Talk only lor. LPPL lah
whatever bad things u have to say, end of the day, u also have to swallow your words, because u using his platform to say your bad things.. namo amitabha...

| For your information, acushnet is not a forum sponsor but a web partner to build a golf community. We do not receive any money from them and all sponsored items like caps, prizes etc go directly to our members. The cost of running the forum, time taken to go meeting and transport cost incurred are all borned by the admin and moderators.
That includes travelling overseas to make payment for games, calling and arranging the logistics.
We have till date run up a bill of 6-700 hundreds and we have not break even for the GR cap being distributed at this moment (another 6-700).
Beside money, we have spent countless hours putting up things together for the forum. You think it is an easy job to coordinate paymemt for the 60 ppl going for our mthly games or the caps collection?
Or the countless hours implementing features of the forum?
If after all these efforts, we are not getting any support or gratitude, i think we might as well close the forum.

| Everyone has a part to play in the forum. The admin and moderating team have only positive intentions for this Golf Republic Forum, and we hope that all members have the same too.
You may not be a fan of GR but so happen to be here for other reasons, we welcome you and we seek your cooperation to make this a friendly place for all stay.
Those who may not be friends of the owners, moderators or volunteers of the forum, I, as one of the admin/owner, would like to stress that we do spend a lot of our personal time and our effort to build this forum and we cherish it to the extend that we are working on the forum every day without a single complain.
Lastly, if the operating model do not suit you, please feel free to join other forums and keep GR a peaceful place for the rest of the GR supporters.
On a separate note, I would like to thank all active supporters of GR who took time to participate in the monthly games and purchase of GR caps.

| OK I'm gonna be blunt abt this. I have really been the middleman for too long.
MT, #$%^& you man. I was protecting and defending your name all the time when this redbull2 showed up and I kept having to tell the rest of the mods that its not you because I believe in you. $%^& you man, make me eat my words and blindly defend u when u r in the wrong.
OK, I said it. Its not easy to forget about it becos as much as it is only a prank and everyone will like a joke or 2 a day, this forum platform is not something to use at your whim and fancy to push the boundaries and limits then find out later u have crossed them.
This is not golfwrx.com. This is a Singaporean Golf forum. How we want the system to run is in a dignified, Singaporean way. If you believe in freedom of speech, go join a US or a UK forum then. The culture and membership we wanna promote here is not something like your typical car forum too. We wanna use this platform to help grow the game of golf in Sg.
You can always lament about all the rules and regulations found here, fall back on all the toonshouse, cyber teebox etc good times there but have you asked yourselves: where are they now? More importantly: Why are they gone?
The forum rules are always created, modified and amended so that YOU as a forum user doesn't get into trouble nor end up in an iffy situation between fellow members. It is also to give the forum a sense of direction. We understand that they are not perfect and are constantly discussin and working on ways to improve them.
As for those bros standing behind you, let me just say that although I know you all and the 'brudder brudder' kinda relationships we all have developed over the mths that we got together, rocking this boat and creating havoc is something not everyone else who is a member here wants to see. Worse is that trying to prove that its 'no big deal and life goes on' is outrightly wrong because you guys dun know what we, the mods discuss on a daily basis to keep things going smoothly and grow this place at the same time. Do you honestly tell me that it is your nature to go into ppl's hse when you all are bored, create havoc then ask ppl 'why? not happy ah? Say sorry liao swa lah! We admit fault liao means very good alr. So big deal meh? Kaobeh so much for what? we got alot of brudder on stand by leh etc' Do you? Does that even sound right to you guys?
I treat you all as my friends guys but if you choose to waste our time repairing damage done to the forum, go against the moderating team and all the good things that has happened to this forum JUST BECAUSE YOU ARE $%^& BORED, then I'm sorry to say that this might not be the place for you.
Last of all, nothing on this forum has been a profit for the owners and moderators. To have Acushnet and BFG be supporters here is our privilege. NO ADVERTISING DOLLARS WERE REQUESTED NOR NEEDED. All the freebies, free gifts and prizes were kindly and generously donated by people and companies whom Sunny and Moon have gone round seeking sponsorship or coming straight from their pockets. Why do they do it? I guess its just a love for the game and wanting to promote this place to let Sg golfers have a cyberspace address to call home. I am in for the ride too.
PS: If you guys have an issue with how the admin and mods run things, too rigid, micro-managing etc, in particular Sunny, Moon, MC and myself, drop us a pm. There is nothing a meetup for a round table talk can't do to iron out any petty differences that we might have. We rather everyone just say it into our faces than bitch about it behind our backs.
You guys can start flaming me but I believe in being right about things rather than being together blindly through all rights and wrongs.

| Ok guys...
MT's apology deserves an effort to forget and forgive. Those who met him knows he is a jolly good guy who is fun loving.....
Moreover, X'mas is coming....this would be a good platform to start our season of giving......by rebuilding relationships.......

| S70B,Sunny,Moon, other moderators, kudos to you and your team for hosting/moderating/policing the forum so people like me can come an read/post, hang out, make new friends, play more golf, etc. I have only seen 1 posts by redbull2 which was I thought was pretty harmless. I have not seen the rest and so cannot say if they were "harmful" or in really bad taste. I know MT from the forum, have golfed with him, makan, tcss etc and can say he is a stand-up guy who will not try to go and sabotage this forum. Yes, there are rules here that were created to "protect" forumers and give the forum a sense of direction. On the other forums I've been that have since wound down, the demise of the forum usually comes from a lack of posts/contribution from forumers. If a little ribbing, friendly banter posts are made in good fun and taste then I feel it should be allowed as it helps generate interest and contributions to posts that attracts forumers and provide ppl like me a slight distraction from my daily grind. I'm not sure why certain forumers were banned, but hopefully they were not done so for some personal rivalry the mods have against some other golf forums. Yes, the forum is your baby, I don't know how much time/effort/money the mods spend, especially if they have to monitor ip adresses, play detective to track down multiple nicks, censor posts, read PMs, etc. But I think maybe can lighten up a little and allow a little more leeway, while the rest of the forumers exercise some commonsense/restraint in their posts. The nuances of speech get lost in forum postings and so there might be misunderstandings. I would hate to see this forum die off or worse still, just becoming a swap shop where people hawk their second hand shoes and divot tools that come free with clothing purchases. | |
