RYDER CUP TYPE FORMAT COMPETITION BETWEEN GR (GOLF REPUBLIC) AND GK (GOLF KAKI MALAYSIA)

This is just a suggestion...but how about having a Ryder or President's Cup type competition between GR & GK....?

I work in Singapore but live in JB. I'm a member of both GK & GR, so if this takes off....where do my allegience lie?

Nevertheless, GK normally plays in KL & PJ, they seldom come down south....we could invite them down to JB for a friendly.......

Can be held in Melaka... middle ground for both GR & GK

GK have their members h/cap.

I think JB is a good place.. melacca a bit far.. in JB we have Legends, TG Putri, HH, Palm Resort.. quite a few choices and top rated courses.

Besides, singapore going to JB jam is longer, unless we make it a stay and play 2 days thing?

Play even or with strokes? kekeke. Coz we can send the buayas and buayees

play even then folks like slinger, poresia, ahdan, ryanlee, jonl, seebayho, birdman, wait for s70b to return, "i", alvin, the pink panther, jblow, cyppga also can (91 on tmcc black is still better than most of us). Do a qualification round. Im sure there are many silent low hcappers in here. Who else guys?

Should have the high handicappers like me playing in category D too... (HCP 30 and above)...

i may have suggested it but then again I'm new to golf.....so appreciate if the old birds could shed some light on tournament formats for example....I could link up with GK in Malaysia.

will be good to have different division for strokeplay so all levels of golfers can take part n have fun.

example A Division (HC 0-9), B Division (10-18), C Division (19-24) and Ladies Division (0-24)

Suggest to include Ladies bcos there should not be many ladies to form another tournament and there will be more fun when men meet women!

We can have 2 Team trophies instead. One for man and One for Women.

Alternatively, System 36 Stableford can be used for simplicity. It will be fair for golfers of all handicap levels.

i've never played foursomes before.. but then some might feel it is not worth the green fees..

..........or if there are enough ladies on either side, we could include one lady per foursome.

Not worth for Foursome. We can still play Matchplay based on best score. ideally, same handicap will play against each other.

Pushslice thank u, but, the shoe might be too big for me to fill la.... but if u guys are firm on the challenge ...may i suggest, just do it with a simple format of 4 ball best ball match play... ie a team GR v team GK ... winner 2 points and draw share 1 point each and loser 0 point. Returning team just report on win, draw or lose,,, easy for tabulations of results and pairing of each team can be of different hcp ie high and low or any combinations for that matters! The stake can be a dinner for both teams and winner pay 30 % and the losing team pay 70% of the bill...

Guess we want to make friendship more than any thing, with the above it will be friendly and not hurt the pocket too much .... ofcourse the bragging rights for the day!

Actually, if you look at the postings......this is only an idea. No one in GKM has approached us as well. Moreover, we dont even know if they will be insterested. As someone put it, they usually play in selangor
