I for one would love to see it happen. I've played Singapore vs Malaysia golf several times under two different banners, both times it's always been fierce but friendly competition on the course, and in the evenings the camraderie is fantastic. Not to mention the bond of friendship that will strengthen over the years.

That's exactly what both were mizzy, and I always looked forward to either going up or hosting. Going up more exciting or course la....

I'm not qualified to play the event, but I don't mind being the GR bookie!

hope this will happen afer Dec 2010 bcos i will be starting my new job in Sept and may not be able to take leave till jan 2011.. of course, provided, i m selected n qualified to play.

ACtually, if we do foresee such ' challenge' thrown to us, then maybe we can start contemplating doing some ranking or internal monthly medal among us.

Some considerations:
1. having a secure access to report scores for interested members
2. monthly medal to be 'opt-in' where if one want to be considered , then one needs to opt in, the rest can be play frenly frenly

who knows, maybe in xxxxxxxx months time, GR is ready to takeon other clubs...(err....am I drinking too much again)

well, there is always the golf club monthly medals and they have their inter club tourneys..
should we just invite the medal winners to join/represent GR?

seriously, the scores they post in the medals are really low..
just saying cause i notice that GR members are mostly younger

Not sure if that's viable for GR mizzy. If we invite just the medal winners for clubs and inter-club tourneys, then it would not be representative of GR. Plus the fact that they already have such events of their own, making it redundant for us to do so.

I'm sure that there will be more who want to play then there will be places. Therefore requiring some form of qualifying criteria for GR members only that is as fair as we can practically make it within manpower and administration constraints.

Just some comments.
1. Should try to leave all the pros(teaching or touring) out for this game.

Ideal in my opinion
1. PP / S70B for div A
3. MC / S Duval for div B
4. GB / Wilkang for div C
5. Buayees for ladies div
6. Ideal venue - legend (quite neutral location)

The bet.... Loser pay for the trophy for this round.

i think we should have a GR tournament over a few games to select the players ala ryder cup style

errrr...as much as i would love to..this hat is kinda BIG to fit..

Before we embark on this, IMHO, proper organisation within is necessary.
Instead of jumping right in, maybe we can have a meet-&-greet game with GK and we'll see how it goes.

eiji hit the nail on the head.. just like what BM said, members must represent GR first rather than from Clubs. we need to select players from GR events with player scores and throw in a few captian's picks.. like that more like ryder cup siah
