Golf Course in JB suitable for newbie

haha OT from golf to nasi lemak hehe! hv u guys tried the Famous Nasi Lemak @ Senibong, - Indah Selalu - just next to the Permas Jaya 9 holes course..

U guys think tom will be crowded for the 9 holes course such as Permas Jaya or even Daiman 18? Wifey and me thinking of trying out these public courses on Haji! Tks

Had it once many moons ago there think in the early 2000, convoyed kakis cars there.

Is Tg Puteri or Starhill slow player friendly nowadays?

maybe not so bad @ golf courses compared to shopping centres etc eg KSL r JPO r Legoland cos its hari raya but may hv more S'poreans non-muslims gg over to play golf

Palm Villa will always be the first choice for newbie. If looking for slower pace golf course, you may need to go farther from JB, maybe Legends or Orchard.
Weekday is always recommend, less crowd and you may try playing 2 balls.

Well must take on the hardest then come the easy one, you'll appreciate the easy one better. IMHO hh is must try at least once

Last Fri Haji game was fantastic at Legend, though the first 9 was packed, we start on 2nd 9, nobody chasing us except a sgp couple(3balls) that bypass us.

Now bitten by the fairway wood bug to upgrade and try other brand.
Like cameras, the upgrade path never end!

I've only played in Daiman in JB but I do recommend it given it's quiet and hardly ever have people chasing/queuing up behind. Even for beginners it's a great place to learn...a frd of mine used to be taken there by a instructor so i'd join and its an enjoyable course. Greens are not fast so easy to judge (say versus a place like Ria Bintan where they're lightning quick).

Pity I don't have a car as i'd love to go there more frequently....even Sat mornings are okay in terms of how busy it is.

Btw if any newbies wanna to feel what the pros felt after 18 holes, should go jgcc. I think today zig zag was completely wore out.

I've always felt that Daiman 18 greens were a little fast... lol

I prefer palm villa, fairways are wide, beginners friendly and easy to access from 2nd link. Daiman not easy, narrow fairways, many OBs

Just been to Damian 18, loss lots of balls there. .

Reasons why Palm Villa is nice for beginners:

1) Wide fairways and pretty flat, most of the time you can see where you are hitting to
2) Relatively short course, especially from white
3) Bunkers are pretty shallow
4) Quite a lot of the greens have slopes around them that will collect the ball and stop it from running too far away from the green if you miss it sideways or long
5) Rough is not too long
6) Just enough water and other hazards so as not to be boring
7) Not very strict on pace on play, i.e. you are allowed to let faster players overtake you

and MOST IMPORTANTLY

8) Buggy on Fairways (after a certain time in the morning once the course has dried out, however, not sure about policy now during raining season)
