More than I can say for Seen. Anyway, back to topic... no amount of grinding will help. I'm still keen on the 59. Must go and try them out. They look good... perhaps in the future DGman will bring in a raw finish variant | |

| BFG Wedges are back in the den with battle scars from the Perak Amateur Open. Review from the player Mr. JH Yang51 Degree Wedge fitted with FST Hi-RevFeel : Although the overall weight felt lighter than usual, it was surprisingly easy to control Distance : Full Swing est 100 – 110 meters Characteristics : Bites and stay (sometimes with a bit of back spin). Very predictable ball control. 55 Degree Wedge fitted with KBS Hi-RevHe have lots of good memories with this particular wedge, especially when it gives him consistently 2-3 birdies for every game. During the Perak game, there's this particular Par 4 which he uses this wedge in the distance around 70m and the stats for this particular hole is Birdie-Par-Birdie and he credits it to the 55 degree wedge which he felt so confident in using it to put it near the pin. Feel : Easy to control, feel very confident with the wedge Distance : Full Swing est 90 meters Characteristics : 2 – 3 hops on the green and stop. Tendency to have low check on the greens. More back-spin compare to the 51 degree wedge | |

| Had a quick toy around with the Vx5 wedge yesterday at the den. This is my initial impression from an already failing memory. (Feel free to contradict or correct) Design wise, the face is classic teardrop shaped, the face profile echoing that of Vokey or TM Z wedges. Not as compact in face size as the Vokeys, with a larger surface area more like the TM Zs which I prefer. The leading edge, ala Cleveland's CG15, is curved, not straight, resulting in the centre portion of the leading edge protruding past the hosel for some slight onset. Looking down, the face sits comfortably just right like mama bear, the top-line thin and blade-like, again more like the TM Zs and not the fat top line of the Vokeys. The more rounded leading edge when viewed from the top will not be to everyone's liking although ironically, rounded leading edges most benefit the average golfer. Yes, we prefer the look of a straighter leading edge, it sits squarer to the eye for alignment even though the former makes for crisper contact. The good news is that DGman has heard the feedback and the next iteration of the wedges will feature a straighter leading edge for more commercial appeal. Lines are clean, pure and simple with the beautiful satin finish found more commonly on Japanese irons. Lovely. Lest we think this is a work of art (and it is), we need to remind ourselves that this was built for the purpose of crafting a wedge shot. It's almost a pity to use the Vx5 to make contact with golf ball and turf. I can't quite comment fully on performance since I only demoed it at the Den with a range mat. What I can recall is the weight was for me, mama bear right. I've always found most American wedges too heavy and preferred the balance and weight of the TM Y and Z wedges, more like Japanese wedges, and these were right in line for me. There was a familiar feel when I held the Vx5 in my hands. Acclimatisation was therefore quick, a couple of swings and I felt dialled in and connected to the Vx5. I didn't quite take note of the impact feel on full swings since I was just mucking around initially, but impact was most startlingly different on partial swings and chips. Sweet and crisp, not the awful harsh 'thock' we've generally been forced to accept as normal by the major manufacturers. I can wax lyrical, but as DGman said, bring your wedges in for a direct comparison. He's putting his money where his mouth is. Speaking of which, DGman drew me into a discussion and showed me some wedges for comparison, like the RC Collection and Ping Eye 2 wedges, I then begun to appreciate the differences which he's posted here in this thread. I can't elaborate further since the full performance features of the Vx's hosel fit, eighteen machined grooves, and sole grind can't be evaluated till the wedge is unleashed into the wide open expanse of the golf course. Hopefully, DGman gets the hint. | |

| if you are playing golf this weekend, you can take it out for a spin Hubert.......cos i will be at cooking class........haha
then you will see how the ball reacts on the green. But do not use the same tactic as the korean spy. he told dennis that he wants to put a lot of mark on the VX5 so that i will let him have it, which i reluctantly did. in return he gave me his callys which are now in the bag of Russell.
we had 3 pros in yesterday spending a lot of time on the wedges and their feedback and readiness to switch. their response mirroring your report in many ways.
so come by and have a go at the wedges and maybe you can take the new ZZW CS out for a spin as well.

| as with most design, its more difficult to keep it simple....we are happy that you appreciate the clean lines and minimalist looks.
the busiest part of the wedge is on the milled face.

| Thanks DGman, playing only on Monday, so I'll see if it's available the following weekend can? Can test both the Vx5 and Vx9? Especially want to see how the lob wedge responds. Cheers.
Asahi tai kor, don't scold me anymore ok? May I offer what I posted earlier in this thread as penance?

| i believe when the prototype 2 arrives and we have a few more wedges for trials, most golfers will get what they want...less rounded leading edge and more grinding on the sole to get a better bounce when the face is open.
Nicasio.....i will be playing in KL next morning am....if you are playing on sunday, i can pass you on saturday nite so we are meeting anyway. i can let you have a go to complement your new set of Fishy sticks...of course you have to promise to return me on sunday nite otherwise i have to use my hand wedge.
