| Just curious on this...
but is CG the main measurement on hitting wedge shots? The reason i am asking is because with the OEM manufacturers, there seems to be a emp on determining the player's wedge swing type Eg. Digger/Slider etc etc from Vokey.
So i am keen to know more about this....

| depending on the type of ground conditions, bounce and how the sole is designed or grinded are key for wedge selection and use.
good short game players use bounce effectively.
The CG at the right spot is meant to give players better feedback and control, hence confidence.
hope it helps Jeremy........and you should bring in your wedges and have a good comparing them to the ones on this thread.

| DGman, are the wedges raw, i.e. will they rust? | |

| the 51, 55 and 59 set with the sole design is meant for us to be versatile in our configuration.
Because its not off the shelf but custom built we can effectively turn 3 SKUs into 9 SKUs. i supposed we can be anal and have 1/2 degree increments to offer 18 SKUs.
+/- 1 degree: 50, 51, 52
+/- 1 degree: 54, 55, 56
+/- 1 degree: 58, 59, 60
for those who like to see how the ground to hosel tip is different and how this will impact the wedge control and feedback, do feel free to come in for a trial.
and do bring along your own wedge so that you can feel the difference.

| Jason, this project started because we need to fulfill the needs of those who bought the BFG iron sets. they want the wedges to complete their set. hence we started with the same configuration. a standard wedge weight and a lighter (10g lighter) wedge weight. the lighter weight will be ideal for juniors and ladies.
So until this objective is met, we are not contemplating different colours and finishes for the time being.
the wedges are made of 1020 steel, so even in its raw stage, it will not rust a great deal. plus because the furnace heating is controlled below 900 degrees, the hardness have not changed significantly and is relatively "soft" compared to those which are forged at 1200 degrees or more which will harden the material significantly.
i am sure some metallurgy expert will attest to that.

| Thanks, DGman.
I asked because I'd like to pick up a 59 but I'd like it to rust. Mentally, I believe that it provides greater grip and spin. In reality, it doesn't make a huge difference but it does get me more comfortable with my shot.

I suggest to do the same with irons, putters and drivers... you'll play like TFP in no time...
