| Ya. I booked my package via Golfasian. My other friends did all the bookings directly with the hotels, golf course, land transfers, etc. We cross checked the prices and he save about USD30. I am too lazy to go through such hassles. My package 5d/4n for 4 person (2 rooms) with 2x 18 holes for 3 balls, all in except air ticket = USD 1469. | |

Totally off track hope it's ok... A crazy experience, I've played when it was -8 degrees... No snow on the course, the course was very well maintained. It was so funny we ended up not really enjoying the game itself but sure was another level of challenge. For example, you can't aim to land the ball on the green with unless you're chipping. If you land the ball on the green then the ball will bounce off the green, no matter how big the green is. You have to land the ball at least 15 m before the green so it would bounce bounce bounce on to the green. The entire golf course was pretty much cart road. guys with 200m average driving distance was driving 280m +, those short par 4s started seem doable! so everyone started landing their balls outside the fairway... What I'm saying is when you're crazy about golf, you can almost play in any conditions. Me? I find SG too hot to play hehehehe, trying to get used to it but it's proving difficult...

This must be one hell of an experience! Sounds like the ground is frozen. I was in Shanghai many years back and was playing in winter. The ground was frozen and the situation was almost as what you'd said. Hope my trip this Jan will be nice, cool and playable.

In the North-Hanoi, you can go to Phuong Dong Driving Range and book at reception with special price too. On special day at the golf course the rates are good too. The difficulty is language and transport to the golf course. Rental cars are less than USD100 per day with driver 8-10hrs. (innova or fortuner)

| I would suggest that if you plan a trip for golf you can do it this way:
Fly Silkair Direct to Danang, it has 2 very nice courses, Fly domestic to HCMC, than fly back to Singapore from HCMC.
Never been to Hanoi, and not really keen to go there as traveling distances to golf course from city centre averages 1 hour.

You can take fly from HCMC to Dalat in 45 minutes. Don't take bus or car as they will take 6-8h on a rather dangerous road. Dalat Palace course is right in the middle of Dalat city but Tuyen Lam is a 45min drive from Dalat city central.

Long Thanh.. a must play! Song Be vs Long Thanh is like.. Poresia vs Horizon Hills.. but at almost the same price.

Planning a short 3-4 days trip with my buddy. need to know how the weather like and the traffic to golf.. Thanks in advance. Mid Year HCMC is hot. Very hot. Traffic is ALWAYS BAD!!!!! The 2 nearest golf courses to the city centre is Song Be Golf Club and Vietnam Golf Country Cub. Both average about 30-40 mins drive out of the city centre.

Okay noted, 30 -40 mins still manageable... i was on the road for 3-4 hours (two-way) during my BBK golf trip last week...the traffic there was worse... i had been to HCHM in Aug period as well and it was really hot and wet... hmm... seem like it is better to go there in Nov/Dec...

| Just heard that a friend was a victim of a snatch theft in HCMC.
For all those deciding to come up during the festive season (Meaning from now till after lunar new year), please do not flash your wealth for all to see.
1. Do keep your wallet / money in your front pocket if possible. if cant, make sure that your back pocket has a button which can make it more difficult to gain access.
2. Do not use your hand phone especially when standing on the road side. If need to, always use 2 hands and hold firmly on to it.
3. Do not use clutch bags or sling bags with small thin straps. IF need to use hand bag, use the short strap hand bags which you can clutch it under your armpit.
4. Do not use fanny packs / pouches around your waist.
5. If need to, use a back pack
