Hi bros, planning to be in HMC in mid March and hope to play a round or 2 around golf courses in HMC.

Any recommendation ? Also, would appreciate if there any advise on green fee charges and transport will be great.
Green fees are all located below.
www.songbegolf.com

www.vietnamgolfcc.com

For transport, you can grab a taxi. Just make sure you tell the hotel to help you get a taxi driver who knows how to get there

Hi, how's the crowd at song be(Friday) and vgcc(Monday)?

I'll be playing with a mate whom is a beginner averaging scores of 120+ and I'm also only a 20+hcp. We are worried of holding up play and unnecessary stress from watchful fights behind should the courses be full of flights. Anyone playing there this Friday at song be or vgcc next Monday?

No issue for Song Be on Friday. VGCC may be tighter becos its promotion day. Cheers and good golfing. Just let them pass if u r slow and if u two ball i would think no issue with pace of play.

Don't worry about slow play. Don't stress about it. Just make sure you tell your caddy to help you as much as possible through out your game.

For 2 ball, most of the time you would be the one waiting.

Thanks bros for the advice. We are pretty patient golfers, so we won't mind a little waiting. Shall post my reviews after the trip, looking forward to it!

The newest golf course to open in south Vietnam. About a 2 hour drive from the city. It is located in the only Casino resort in South Vietnam.

It is called The Bluffs. Designed by Greg Norman. It is located with the premises of "The Grand Ho Tram"

Course is open but the club house is not ready yet. Shower facilities are in the spa. Or alternatively, you can book a hotel room at The Grand.

A friend who is working in the golfing industry was invited up for a tour and he said it is one of the nicest course and toughest course he has ever seen in Vietnam. Will be planning a trip up after I return from Singapore.

Stay tuned for photos and updates.

My friends also praised for this course a lot. The index 1 hole is actually a par 3 hole. Many of my single digit hdcp friends took 7-8 shots for that hole ;0

I just got back to HCMC this evening. Wait for me to clear the mountain on my desk first and hopefully arrange a trip up week after next.

Tried to arrange a game up to The Bluffs located about 2 hours away from HCMC.

Was informed that all available tee times were booked. Reason being that the management only allocates 14 flights per day because they want to maintain the pristine condition of the golf course.

What a load of bull.....

Really have no clue. Now, you would have to use the locker at the SPA. If you do want to go up in November, it is a full day trip so it might be good to consider staying there one night, play one more round in the morning and then come back in the afternoon.

Please do take note that at night, the place is a dead town, the only entertainment at night is the casino...

Hi, may I know which hotel you staying in when you are in HCMC?

Is transport to and fro inclusive of the price you are paying?

1. Song Be on weekdays is USD$60 (Green fees + Caddy fees) and USD$25 for buggy (18 hole)

2. Long Thanh I am not sure of their promotions but I do know that the price is definitely higher than normal.

3. Bochang is just too far away. it would easily take you an hour to get there if traffic is light. Once you hit a traffic jam, it is going to take easily 1.5 hrs to get there. It is even further away than Long Thanh.

As for first time being in HCMC,

1. When shopping at the markets, always bargain, do not pay more than 50% of the opening price.
2. Always pay in local currency.
3. Take care of your personal belongings when in public especially hand phones, wallets and handbags.

We are staying at a local hotel, Sanouva.

It does not include local transport. Hotel charging us usd116 for transport from airport to golf club back to hotel for first day. Next two days we are intending to take local taxis. Do you have local transport contacts?

Seems like we are over paying. But I think we are paying to the country club, hotel is just booking on behalf.

For Saturday game, what do you suggest other than bo Chang?

Thanks

I am very sure that you are paying for the agent fee because no way the club will over charge you when there is a promotion available.

I suggest that you try Vietnam golf and country club ( http://vietnamgolfcc.com/). It has 2 * 18 holes so you can play there for 2 days and still play different courses. The reason I am suggesting this is because since you are taking taxis, this will be a cheaper alternative.

As for local transport company, my contact is no longer in this line as she has made too much money and has decided to retire.
