haha.......seriously i have spoken to various organisation about sponsoring young golfers from humble background but we never get enough feedback. maybe GR can start a programme and we can help 5 to 10 young golfers a year to get a level playing field in the equipment department. my only criterias are:
1. they must be keen 2. they come from a humble background 3. they come and do some work during the holidays
thats why we have lots of kids running around at times.
DGman Great work DGman. U ve my vote.

DGman This is something i can personally vouch for.. as I am one of those that has been at the receiving end of Eric's generosity and compassion. True to his motto of being a club maker by passion!

DGman thanks eric! now in melbourn i don't need to take bus and hith rides anymore. i live directly opposite the golf course and take only 10 mins to walk there lol! will visit you soon! to the girl who started this this thread, go down to BFG soon. it's fine even if you're not intending to buy yet. go down and try a few shafts at least you have a rough idea of what's available out there that benefits you =]]

| It's so weird for an average 15 year old golf to take up so much interest in golf right? Everyone says that but i got inspired by Annika and Jenny Shin! haha. currently using man clubs as it's easier to find and get it cheap. | |

| you're not weird, it's great! i got hooked onto golf around your age and got hooked ever since. go look around at the shop. if you're really on a very tight budget, i'm sure Eric, aka DGman, will work something out for you. he has a storeroom full of used shafts and maybe there's one that might fit you and definitely affordable.
glad seeing someone so self-driven at such a young age and saving up in pursue of their own passion. hopefully there will be more golfers coming from humble background and break the norm of golf being only for the rich

| hahaha! Yeah, my dad says i have to be independent and stuff and i come from an average family. Not those that owns Jaguars, Audis or Volvos. Thank you for your kind words! Not all golfers are arrogant. Most of them at the range gave me stares like i broke their club or something! | |

| lol the stares you get on the range could probabl due to the fact that a girl is visiting the range. i'm guilty of taking a few extra glance when girls visit the range, especially if they're good looking haha. range is not as bad when you compare it to lugging your clubs onto trains and buses. the number of stares you get are far more than what you get on the range. some of them are friendly and ask you how your game went but most are judging eyes from people thinking "what's with this golfer? can play golf but cannot afford to take taxi."
true story. | |

| YESSSS. I AGREE. That time i took an iron with me on the train and this "gentleman" said loudly, ' I thought Golfers were rich. I guess she isn't, maybe just a caddy or a show off ' I was super embarrassed but luckily my stop was the next one. Gosh. I dare not take public transport when i go for golf. I always beg my dad to drive me to the range! | |

| LOL some people still think golf is a rich mans game and they somehow dislike golfers...many also dont want to pick up the game cause they think they need a car. A lot think its only for the bosses and managers...guess its still an image thing.
Anyway used to take bus to Mandai a few times (from Payar Lebar, 1 hr trip - 2 buses), no comments...maybe i big size they dont dare to say anything.....
i also buy some clubs from cash converters and carry them around the shopping center with the cash converter plastic bag covering the head, nobody cared. They got some cheap (some not so cheap) stuff. Good thing about Cash Converters, they are clueless about JDM clubs...sell them for really cheap...but TM stuff always premium. Saw a few ladies club for $5. can buy to try try. I am also gaming a $5 driver...which i told the rep at the TM demo is better than the new RBZ when i hit it side by side...went further LOL.
