- Hi DGman, can explain a bit on what's spine-ing and what result will this prep work bring to the club?
Recently someone tried my club at range and told me that my club has got a lot of vibration at impact. At the same time, I find that the back of my right palm is having some pain after using this set for few months. Does this 2 have any relation?
BTW my club comes with stock NS Pro 950 Stiff shaft. Spine-ing involves finding the natural bend point of the shaft. however there is the soft point, the neutral and the stiff point. just imagine that if your set is not spined, you may have different feel for different irons at impact. however some golfers do not find any difference in feel and performance while there are others who swear by it. to take apart a set specifically to reset the spine facing is sometimes a bit back breaking. its something i seldom do for existing set of irons. other prep work include specific swing weighting, loft and lie adjustment and grip sizing. hope this helps Jtek. | I had my irons spined in the states when I was playing professionally and I have to say...I have not had a set of irons that have been close since. They were hands down the best set of irons I have ever played.
I had to change the set due to a change in sponsor, but still remember how good they were. I think it was the shaft selection and then the spining of the shafts as I knew that they would react consistently throughout the set. Maybe it was more mental or maybe there was something to it, but the bottom line is that set produced some of the best and most consistent iron shots I have ever hit in my career. Was it me? Was it the spining? A combo of both?? Who really knows. I can say however those irons were amazingly consistent and accurate.

| Can I say the wall of 45g graphite shaft is thinner then a 65g shaft and it has less resistant to break because of less material? and most of the aftermarket shaft are 65g? | |

DGman Thanks for the explaination. So if I find my shaft a little too stiff, can I spine it to the soft point to reduce the flex a little?
