Cheapest option to get handicap

My handicap is expiring soon.. i have an option to renew at EGC @ $160 or get one from somewhere else before September.. anyone knows wads the cheapest option?

If you have a car, AA is good. If you don'y want to play monthly medals than MBK, SGA is a good choice. The HC rates are almost the same across the board lor.

I just studied the AA website.

First - Pay for AA roadside assistant membership @ $55 p.a.
Second - Join their golf section @ $64.20 p.a.
Third - pay to maintain your handicapp @ $3.60/mth or $42.80 p.a.

total abt $162 p.a. abt the same at ECG but u get someone to fix your battery and car tyre for you FOC.

the cheapest way to maintain your HCP is through Society of Singapore Golfers aka SSG, which is from my last check about S$70 yearly with one time entrance fee of S$20.

The only down side is you MUST join in one of their quarterly games at least once every 3 months. Which isn't really a downside since people who join a golf club is to play golf, right?

Anyways, this is how they ensure all their members' HCP is current.

For the price we pay, doesnt Golf Kaki come with golf insurance???

ssg is a well managed society.

Before i joined NSRCC, SGA was a good choice for me ( 2003 to 2007) as they offer other golf course good rates, now it almost no benefits to join SGA.

Kat, AA good for you if you have a car, if not MBGC is good too !

I think hor....it all depends on what you want from the club/society that maintain your handicapp. If you are only looking for pure mainteance only, then look for price but recommendation is to ensure it is accepted by most courses here in SG.

BUT if you looking for club/society that organizes games that you participate, or good kakis that share the same passion with the right spirit, then it will be slightly diff.

AND if you want frills tat come along with it, discount makan etc etc...then price alone is not a fair comparison.

UL, SSGA, for one, they are considered a small outfit and trying their best to promote the game. Nonetheless, thing are going to be better. They are going to have a new home with Keppel and relationship that would help SSGA golfer to play in Keppel. I see that is a positive move.

Duval right, it depends what golfer want in the end. SSGA promotes a lot of game to get golfer to come together and play. the membership rates is also reasonable.

Subsequent Yr - $70 only

AA is currently offering 3 years membership for AAGN and HI maintanence for $288.90 plus they will be giving away a golf bag free. You need to be aa member first or pay straight 5 years term to enjoy lower rates. Their CR is $160.5 and conduct every monday.

I also looking for the cheapest way to get a HCP and can take CR without PC...
