| I tried the iPhone app for first time this past Sunday at Jurong and the iPad version the week before.
It works really well. I was skeptical at first but was pleasantly surprised that it works as advertised. I recommend it as an affordable solution to golf GPS. I think it was US$30.
They have an Android app but I haven't tried it.
It's easy to record your score, your flightmates' scores, handicaps, then share the results later via email or Facebook.
Here is the company website: http://golfshot.com/

| U should try GolfScape... It utilizes your camera and tells you the distance of various hazards on the hole... Interesting app
Btw, it's the same company... GolfPlan is also not too bad... They look at your weakness in your game and prescribes drills for you to practice / improve

| Yes... They have most of the courses in Malaysia & Singapore I noticed sometimes the holes get mixed up, especially courses that have recently undergone renovations or have extra holes which get used alternatively | |

Just curious, using in Jb ie. Malaysia, would that be incurring roaming data charges? Would cost alot more if not mistaken.
Any comments? | |

| Been using it for over a year already, in UAE and in Singapore. I think some courses are not mapped yet (e.g. MBGC) but since the MBGC carts have GPS, that's not a problem. I paid USD29.99 for it, but once in a while, they have a special offer on iTunes and the price drops to USD9.99. | |

| yup they do on the buggy. I think it was added a few months back at least 3 - 4 months. Mind you they don't come free, it's included on your green fee | |

| Althought MBGC has got build in GPS on their buggy, they are very very bug-gy ... as in ..i have to reset the GPS at least 5 times during one round of game.
eventually, i give up using GPS

| Yeah...I also want a rangefinder but I haven't got one yet because they are not cheap.
For US$30, though, this is a decent and cheap substitute.

| ok, my first FR with Golfshot on Kranji from blue-t Pros ----- 1) Ability to have a top view of the hole layout, good to know if its dog-legged left, right or straignt. 2) Ability to assume if my driving distance is 200m, what is the remaining distance to the green. 3) It can show a few distance away from the green base on your PW, 9i, 8i, 7i distance. so you know how far you need to drive so that you can use your most comfortable club 4. Scoring system is easy. Ability to capture GIR, putts, sand, penalty, hook left, right or short. for analysis purposes. 1) Distance is not correct. the t-box distance is different from what is shown in Golfshot 2) Unable to update the course information such as distance in Golfshot 3) when scoring for more than one player, not able to see individual hole whether its Par 3, 4 or 5 that's all i observe for now ... not sure if there are any points that i missed out. feel free to add on to the list ... thanks | |

| Correction.
There is no data charge for GPS. Used the GPS in my iphone in Malaysia and used Golfshot in Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and China.
GPS do not require data roaming.
For Golfshot, you just sync/update courses in Singapore. This requires data. Once it is updated, just use it in other countries. As long as you DON'T ALLOW GOLFSHOT TO SYNC/UPDATE COURSES OVERSEAS, you'll be fine
