| erm, guys, keep in mind that tour player using G15 may not be same as RETAIL G15. I know some tour irons that have much less offset than their retail counterparts. From a distance, they look the same, but they are usually not. | |

| the way I look at this is like this:
If high on talent but low on training hours => Game improvement
If high on talent and high on training hours => Tour irons
If low on talent and high on training hours => Game improvement / tour
If low on talent and low on trainig hours => super improvement
PS: I use super improvement
BTW, I am taking part in end of year marathon, wonder if I should just get super duper jogging shoes and forgo training......hmmmm ahhhh.....duuuhhhhh

If you talk to CustomGolf who sells Ping, the guy is a single digit handicapper and still play a G15 which is a SGI club. According to him, the forgiving club really comes in handy during those days when your body or swing is just not up to mark, and the club will not penalize you as much.
To me, i think the X20 is a very good club. Unless it is broken, why fix it? If I am not wrong, some tour player uses G15 as well, e.g. K.J.Choi..

| Hey Khan...
I know the feeling... can be demoralising at times...
but from personal and past experience... I had a really cheap and crappy set when I started... actually... it was a custom set.... but not for me.. but for my cousin. He is slightly taller and slimmer than me... so... different lenght and lie angles...
My couch saw it as a potential problem as I am not able to see my progress, as I may be hitting it properly but its not showing the results that I want... hence, i may be correcting something that does not require me to. so, he lent me his Mizuno Blades to practice with... and mind you ... i was only like 8 months to a year in from learning.
Therefore, personal advice, go have your clubs checked if it is of what specifications. if the previous owner changed its lie or length or whatever else. Because, if you purchased the X20 Tour... there is that possibility. And see if the specs fit to you.
Then... if it is, you are safe... just bare with practice... it may be a struggle... as the learning curve for you will be very steep... but... performance when you actually get it... willl be "drooling"...
My personal experience... when I started using my coaches set, I dropped from 24 to about a 16 handi withi about 18th months... just because... my personal set was slightly longer... and the lie is very slightly upright...
Hope it helps mate...
Cheers. | |
