Jul 11-12, SUN-MON - 2D1N Golf & Stay @ Batam Turi Beach Resort (S$158)

Hi nientsu,

I'm going to Batam on the same timing as everybody, back to SGP on Tuesday afternoon.
My wife & son probably would follow Zhenxua to check-in early to Turi Beach.

For non-Singapoeans, I believe some nationalities may need to get a VOA (visa on arrival). Just a heads up.

Pls aim to be at Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal by 10am. I would expect a lot of people there. Also, I should be there early, say at 930am.

I would assume everyone has a Golf Travel Bag. If not, pls go borrow. There are many people here with travel bags.

We need to chk in our golf bag? Can't we carry our own n sit near those passage way or somewhere there is space for our golf bag?

i think u need to chk in ur bag.

Definitely need to check in, not like last time can carry your own bag on anymore.

Argghhh cos not like this!

That's why should have two golf bags. One for travel and one for domestic. Travel one not so favourite, then when get beat up, not so heart pain.

Also invest in one of those thick plush japanese iron covers that fit all your irons underneath when inside your golf bag, or wrap a towel around them like many have suggested before. Then when your bag accidentally drops, irons won't get damaged or cut the golf bag cover.

hi... OT a bit.. how's the golf course in Batam? is it worth the money and time to travel there?

S$158 for 2 rounds of golf and stay at turi beach is worth..
palm spring courses are not bad, quite challenging for me.

ohh... thx miss moon.. im still a newbie.. looking fwd to play more courses.. is ther any other things to do in between golf??

The bus rides seem so short and "interesting" this time cos we have Birdman and Wilkang sharing their stories.. damn funny & colorful ones.

- go down to town for cheap massage, the guys did a 2+ hrs massage for less than 30 bucks (i think so).
- eat loads of kelong seafood.
- swimming and water sports are available at turi beach..

I think played through the rain is an understatement. After one long stoppage, we decided to play on no matter what, and that's when the heavy downpour started. The rain tested our golf and mind.We were wet through to our shoes, (Eden poured water out of his). Buggy with no windscreen made it even worse, heavy rain and wind kept us wet and cold. One of the other groups caddy even said we were gila. Still, it was really fun and there were lessons to be learned from the experience.

1. The importance of good grip (gloves and club grips).

2. How much shorter the ball carries in heavy rain, even with a good hit.

3. Attack the pin with chips and putts cos the ball don't roll at all

Not on the 1st hole of the Palm course. I think there were 8 snakes on that hole alone. First few snakes, all so serious, last few snakes on the hole, all just don't care anymore just hantam and laugh.
