| Have a look at this:
http://www.golfdigest.com/instruction/shortgame/chipping/els_gd0705
What I usually do is to aim to slot the clubface between the ball and the ground/matt. Sadly my backspin balls so far only happens in the range and with my Titleist SM wedge.

| I haven't been able to do much backspin but have been able to play a relatively quick stop-ball which, I guess, is a little backspin | |

| Have nice fresh grooves to bite the ball.
Padrig Harrington said on the Golf Channel that he changes wedges before every major tournament.
For most of us who can't afford to change our wedges too often, you can check out www.groovesharpener.com to refresh your wedges.
In my usual style of buying in bulk, I bought 5 and only have used 1 so far.
Will probably give the rest away at Christmas.

| Sumtimez when I need roll-out, the ball spins back anyways.
If I try not to put spin on the ball, it ends up a 'flyer' across and over the green oftentimes.

Not wedges, groove sharpeners. They're a lot cheaper than wedges.
