| Slinger, there's a slight difference IMHO.
It's one thing to use Geylang as an example (which is a good one) but given the broad scope of the forum, it's akin to allowing the Geylang-sort to solicit their services around public places like shopping malls etc.
Geylang is more suited for the SBF where everyone acknowledges that SBF is tailored for such "matters."
On the other hand, GR is more public which means that we cater for the masses. It's not about exercising our moral responsibility as much as it is being morally considerate to others.
Hope you understand. | |

juz a question.... so what's the perfect scenario?
everyone talk super nicely, politely and nvr off topic.... everyone can nvr suan, joke abit too far to anyone..... everyone must put clean pics, talk clean...... every topic discussed or posted must be golf related....
nothing against GR, i think it is one of the best i have seen.... but it's getting abit weird....somehow i cant explain.....
supposingly a place for many frens to TCSS n arrange golf... but as it grows.....really hard....

LOL! I'm not sure about you but I'm a nasty example. What I'm saying is this. We can't please everyone and there will always be people who are unhappy with certain decisions taken (morally or otherwise). What we do try to adopt (as far as possible) a light touch to what the users can and cannot do. Where possible, we ask for some moral consideration from the users for the other users. For issues like this, it makes sense given that we are trying to encourage younger golfers to participate in the forum and the sport (we even have a golfer who is a young lady (in her early teens)) so we need to be sensitive to their needs.

| Let put it this way.... how long does one stay at a thread post by a certain forumer. Only if you are STARING at it long enough, then maybe you forgot that your kid is sitting beside you. Come on people.... why are you surfing the web with your kids beside you. If your kids are old enough to surf the web, then freaking make sure you clear your history or del your passwords. If i were a kid, i would pay attention to my parent's bank account instead of a forum talking about avatar where tits can'tbe seen. Show that picture to MDA and see if they ban it. Look at new paper, and you will see the Previous Miss Singapore and the Jap model advertising for Breats enhancement. Grow up people.... the more you hide, the more the kids will want to know. Learn to explain to them instead of hiding from them. Learn of educate, instead of consistently blaming a certain system.
@JC.... I will support you... keep the picture there.

TS... firstly congrats on your new addition. With regards to this... the crap is for you. And in future, if its so stringent, please ask the ladies going to starry starry night to wear berms or pants hor, must cover knees, or else if i bring teenagers there, they may spoil the image of the game.

| in case you miss this,
We do understand that there are concerns about some images being inappropriate for younger audience.
While we acknowledge that children are probably savvy and can find worse things on the internet, we do not need to give them extra help or reminder.
The images may be a tad provocative to some but they are by no means malicious which is why the moderators had not taken action so far. But we have told those members with controversial images nicely about the feedback and we would leave it to their discretion to change or remain status quo.
We just advise everyone to be considerate to others especially the ladies and the children. At the moment, we would not step in unless the issue or other similar issues become rampant and portray a wrong image of the forum.
I think we would leave it to everyone to decide for themselves. We would only step in if it violates our rules.
Everyone has different moral standards and they also would like their children to be brought up differently.
Let's focus on our similarity which is the passion for golf and try to compromise on our differences. Be tolerant and considerate is all we advocate.

| The point is that the light touch is adopted and even that causes you unhappiness. As you can tell from Sunny's post, the choice remains with the users though we would encourage them not to use such avatars. Nothing pleases you, mate. | |

| chill it everyone...
let's just accept the fact the everyone has different moral standards and we try to live with it. Just be mindful of what we do so that we do not overly stretch others' tolerance.
Let's just leave it as it is. If after reading the feedbacks, they decide to change, it is fine. If they feel that it is ok as it is, it is still fine.
We'll leave it unless it really becomes obscene that requires moderation.

I am not refering to you TS, instead, i was refering to those who are unhappy with JC's avatar. I seriously believe that you like JC's avatar because previously, you even thought that JC looks like his Avatar.. remember???

I seriously believe that you like JC's avatar because previously, you even thought that JC looks like his Avatar.. remember??? Yeah, I did (and still do) like JC's avatar. It was intriguing. However, since then, we have received feedback that such avatars are not entirely suitable and therefore, may not be appropriate for the public audience. So, as much as I have my own likes/dislikes, I also have to acknowledge the needs of others. Regardless, like Sunny said, the choice remains with the users. 'nuff said.
