| the prices of chinese commodities are always like that. the chinese don't know how to appreciate contemporary art, but since their friend drive the prices up, they just buy it to show off who got the most money...
but i think there are many more artists out there who are very talented but not discovered yet... the arts scene in china is very vibrant and i think there will be numerous rising talents from there... i used to know a few of my peers studying in central saint martin's in london.. they were chinese and they had strong opinions which they expressed in their art... it is very interesting actually... one day i hope to be able to go to art school together with these people just to understand more about their views...
there is alot more undertones to chinese art that we have to know in order to fully appreciate what the artist is trying to say.. from an internal point of view, the cultural revolution affected the people differently than from an external (mainly western) POV.
anyway siaw9, i think we have alot in common.... except i am not so KL and ATAS like u... this is w.r.t. the discussion we had on MSN and SMS and BBM this afternoon...............
i also have alot to learn from u in that ASPECT....

- agree with you about chinese art.
things such as zhangxiaogang bloodlines
and of course people like yue minjun with their laughing faces..
these paintings all have got some kind of meaning behind it, and witnessing the development of the chinese art scene is like watching the renaissance in europe when it first began.
with the talent of the chinese artists, just imagine where they would be in the arts world now without the cultural revolution.
but then again, one can go into a circular argument to say that they wouldn't be where they are without their experiences. This picture is showing the same family of 3 generation. By the look of their eye, eye brown, face shape etc, is all alike. The difference in colour represent difference generation, so cannot be sibling. The man with back and white is the first generation The woman with some red colour on the face is the 2nd generation The young boy in green uniform is the 3rd generation As for the red line........... its telling us that they are blood related, red represent blood mah. Actually, i know art too

| You guys really entertain me with your new photos & argument. Anyway, like wat everyone has been saying, it's a public forum! Nothings right/wrong! Unless this forum is created for educational or religious objective, then the photo is "wrong". If this forum is created to compete with Sa**yBoy Forum, then you should share with me the photo & video!!!! Unfortunately, I am here oni for golf... So, anything is fine as long as I get cheap equipments, know more fun golf kakis, get some tips, win some fishmas or charity golf luckydraw (i haven won any) & enjoy the chat & jokes!! I am in Hatyai now!! Going Hua Hin!!! But no time for GOLF!!! DAMN!!! | |

| Anyway, shall we bring a close to this avatar chapter with a game between those for jc's avatar vs those anti jc's avatar? Or maybe a game for all those who support jc's avatar? | |

wats ur problem here? Who are you to ask them to cease operation. Judge, Singapore justice??? Do the right thing. | Hi and68low,
the decision we made was to leave them alone and advocate everyone to be more tolerant to each other. It is a give and take thing.
Even for sg, the government would never make a stand on such issues, thus it is unfair or even ridiculous to expect the moderators to give a yes or no on such grey issues.
Hope you understand. | |

| Just one day away and i miss all this excitement? oh. and i have 286 emails to clear as well.
I actually gave up reading it halfway. just think it is too meaningless.
its only a suggestion from someone. whether u want to take it down or not, it is up to u. if we want to take it down. we can do it. i mean in all our admin-given power we can ban, suspend and pretty much do what we want with here on our board. we can make u a 16/m or 74/f with a iamablardeeidiot@gmail.com email address.
as for the suggestion to be more decisive and do what is responsible... hm... that is what i love about GR. it is so USA-ish or Singapore-ish. freedom of speech is given and censorship is done openly and transparently. and then we all have an argument and debate about it.
not like some other place which is like North Korea. Anything wrong. Censor and silenced forever. Not sure if your whole family dies with you....

Chrisd, nobody ask them to cease operation. Correct me if am wrong but i did not find any sentence that suggested that. Actually, come to think of it, you actually caused this load of crap that madeTS thinks i am aiming at the mods once again. And since they are trying to be nice, then led to other trouble. So word of advice for you chrisd, dun stare at the picture for too long, we know its nice but show some resistance lah.

| Shotah, why did you name me again? There are a whole bunch of mods and you always name me. You want to date me, is it? LOL! Seriously, you said that the "crap was for me" which is why I asked you why you are unhappy and insulted my post. No matter, I'm not too bothered as I'm sure you aren't as well. Regardless, this has gone on long enough. I'm locking this thread. | |
