| Why must every little issue here be argued to the ages and so political, its a freaking avatar, forum didn't dictate any rules. Some members just raise their discomfort with it and the moderators step in to do what they are suppose to do and moderate, which is to moderate, and they are now made to be like "mata". A little mutual respect goes a long way, although i have no issues with the avatars and rather enjoy them, but if some members expressed their discomfort i would respect it.
Some of you are behaving rebelliously and its very reminiscence of my secondary school days and how a lot of us were rebellious. i am just a young'un compared most of you here, but i think the internet makes a lot of us keyboard warriors and sometimes we say things out of spite or in the spur of the moment. if we step back and reflect, i am sure we are better than the things and actions that we display in this cyberworld.
we gathered here because of a common interest in golf, why are we dwelling and bickering over issues like this. i rather be spending more time out for a game or even training to be a better player.

singapore dun legalise prostitution, if u walk the streets of geylang, its there....... doess that mean u cant bring your family to geylang for dinner, cos its degrading/demeaning to women, wont u not ask the government to enforce the policy of zero tolerance since its inappropriate to the young......
we aint perfect, society aint perfect, there will always be some bad among the good, if we can sing about our virtues, why cant we exercise some tolerance for the vice..... are all of us that perfect, have u not skip a day of school, smoke the 1st cigarette, watch porn with our friends, lie to our parents........ if we are tolerant to our shortcomings, why cant we do the same to others
should we exercise our moral responsibility? only our goodself will know Good post Slinger ... i support you ..

when u got kids growing up, yes u try to shelter/protect them, but as they reach puberty to adulthood, the last thing thay want is ppl telling them do this n that when they find themselves able to use their judgement.......u cant protect them forever, they will have to open their own doors n be their own person, let them grow.....
i have my own devils but i turn out fine....
it may be a avatar, but there's a saying
"when they came for the Jews, i did nothing cos i'm not one, when they came for the blacks, i did nothing cos i'm not one, when they came for me, i dun have anyone to help me"
maybe i should remove my avatar as well....... dun really leave much for the imagination

| Aiya... Why quarrel until like this? Cool down bros/sis.. its just an avatar... Frankly, let us all give and take lah... There isn't any place that can please everyone... For those who find certain avatar too provoking, i would urge that you keep an open mind and exercise abit of tolerance... This is after all, an open forum where people of all walks of life are welcomed so long as they have a passion for golf... Actually, you just need to ask yourself, "what would you do when you see a fhm magazine in the supermarket or newstand?" I guess, you should have the ans... As such, i would urge that you spare a thought for the mods, they are not paid to do the job and are not thanked for it... Thus please kindly do not complain over the slightest of things... Lastly, like what the mods have said to me before, if you dun like certain avatar, thread or subforum, just dun read it:) (even though i tot that it is damn rude, i think it make alot of sense) As for those who are supportive of JC's avatar, lets not argue over this anymore as the mods have made it clear that they will apply light touch to this issue... Really no point reiterating your stand, coz i think its loud and clear... and if people dun get it, they will never do... Anyway, life is too short for this... Time would be better spent with family, frens and on the golf course than arguing over avatars (again simi LJ) Btw, just to make my stand, i am for JC's avatar:) | |

| agree with you about chinese art. things such as zhangxiaogang bloodlines and of course people like yue minjun with their laughing faces.. these paintings all have got some kind of meaning behind it, and witnessing the development of the chinese art scene is like watching the renaissance in europe when it first began. with the talent of the chinese artists, just imagine where they would be in the arts world now without the cultural revolution. but then again, one can go into a circular argument to say that they wouldn't be where they are without their experiences. | |

| I been reading and following this post, from what i gather, the modarators here should just make a decision! rightly or wrongly! but instead get yourself involved and justifying what your thoughts are. If you cannot make a decision, than quit and cease to be so call a course marshall !! Come on! do the right thing! But be responsible for it! | |

| MT, finally we have something in common... but i think i have alot to learn from you... really ren bu ke mao xiang...
Btw, my view is that the cultural revolution and the communist rule are prob the two main reasons why they are so good with these kind of hua zhong you hua kind of art..
The environment prohibits them from expressing their view and inner thoughts openly...
The only way that they can do so is subtlety via music, art and etc...
Anyway, I hope that the chinese artist can keep it up and not succumb to the power of money...
