my humble 2 cents .. as directed by my Course Marshall ..

it is not illegal to carry your clubs in the confines of your car ... (i have the habit of doing this too). But if you use it for unlawful purposes then it is a different story .. the criminal intention or 'mens rea' will count against you ..

Also the is no such thing as 'no right of self-defense here in Singapore' i am sure some lawyers here can attest to that .

Now I'm confused since I'm only a man on the street with no understanding of the law.

What actually can or cannot? And why would the officer have said what he said about clubs belonging in the boot of the car?

Can clarify please, would want to know what I can or cannot carry by my side. He listed baseball bats and golf clubs as a no no. Even if I said the club was for practice.

I have carried a single club up buses several times before... Apart from the stares I get from other passengers, nothing...

like i said, it depends on purpose.

an auntie with a chopper wrapped in newspaper walking in the street....

1. did she just buy this chopper from the provision shop?
2. is she going to hack off her husband's hand for touching other women?
3. is she going to hack off another lady's hand for touching her man?
4. or is she a chicken seller replacing her chopper after she just broke hers?

when stopped by an SPF officer, they will usually ask "why u carry chopper?" so if auntie replies 1 or 4 and shows cause, then she is fine...

otherwise... ROFL
