I had an opportunity to visit Brisbane for work recently and had the chance to play at 2 golf courses around the BNE area.
Sharing some photos and a short review:
1) Indooroopily Golf Club
-Location is approx. 25mins drive from BNE city via my GPS/rental car
-This club is affiliated to SICC, if you are SICC member, you can play for free with the usual member benefits
-walk-in visitor rate is Aud$55 for 18holes
-if you need a trolley/cart, it can be rented as well (don't know the charges, as I walked 18holes)
-Club is located in a suburb area, very quiet area
-Fairway is quite flat and hard
-Air was dry and windy, on the downwind, you can really bomb it
-Greens super fast, easily >11 and they were still cutting it that day I played
Club Entrance/Drive-away
Driving range, $5 bucks for a bucket of balls
Par 3 2nd hole
Another downhill Par3 - notice green tucked on right
Club House
2) Pacific Golf Club
-Location approx. 30mins via driving
-This club is affiliated to Keppel Club, hence with a Keppel intro letter, you can play for free (which I did), else the green fee is approx. $30-40 bucks
-a lot of dog-legs for this course and quite hilly
-fairway also a bit narrower with trees lining the F/W
-greens were undergoing core-ing work when I played, hence it was putting on sand most of the time
-no distance markers on each F/W, only a marker at 150m only, hence a rangefinder would be helpful
Entrance signage - doesn't look like a golf club
Proshop
Hole 1 Par 5 - narrow, dog-leg right
Green condition - not the best, like putting on sand but still can roll a bit
Downhill Par 3 - play to 160m off whites
Longest Par4 - from white, plays to 425m
this picture was taken from the white tee, the guy is green is my playing partner, blue tee is even longer, you can see the green in the distance
Another narrow Par 4 - accuracy is valued
Shortest Par 3 - from white, 105m
Longest Par 3 - from white, 185m
