| winston, i'm very sorry to have to tell you this, but between reading your golfing sob story and staring at your avatar, i think you can guess which wins outright?
i need to visit you soon...
good luck breaking 100 but honestly, with your avatars to comfort you when you don't, i would never be motivated to break 100 either...

But still great to admire them. Hai..... Winston.... I hate you. They go see Dr Plastic Surgery in Thailand. The most common things done in HCMC are Nose, lips, breast and backside. When I first got here, you can tell it is very fake, but now the standard and quality has gone up slightly. Also many of them like to wear low cut tops and push ups to accentuate their assets hence giving the illusion that it is eerrrr...."fuller"???? Dude, hate the game, don't hate the player. IF I told you that the only reason I am still here in HCMC is because of the golf, would you believe me???

After awhile you ahve to find new things to keep you going. Thankfully I have golf.

After awhile you ahve to find new things to keep you going. Thankfully I have golf. Actually Winston, I fully agree with you. I had an opportunity to work on a project in HCMC in 2009 and know, for a fact, what is in store for us in that exciting city. But the excitement can only last for a while. Unless of course you have a passion for appreciating the beautiful women there. For me, my passion is golf. I used to be an extremely heavy drinker, 4 to 5 nights a week is very normal. But after I was introduced to golf, and more particularly, walking golf, my drinking days took a backseat. I wake up early for morning games, play 9 holes in the evenings. All these meant "sacrifices". I have to "give up" happy hours and late nights. My wife is very happy that I do not binge anymore. She rather see me come home smelling full of sweat than have the alcohol/smoke combination stench. Of course, on golfing trips with a bunch of guys, the night outs are also enjoyable, but I will not go for a overseas holiday just for the sake of exploring the night spots. Tell me that it is a golfing trip, and I will be all excited!!! To me, night outs are a "good to have", not necessarily a "must have". I did not get a chance to play when I was in HCMC. Is it really that good there???

I can't really gauge what is good or not as I picke up the game in Vietnam and have not played anywhere else so don't really have a yard stick to compare. Most of my kakis play overseas too and they have never mentioned that the Courses here are inferior. Maybe in terms of quality of facilities, some are lacking / old compared to others. A brief description - Fees here are for GREEN & CADDY. Average USD$ 50 - $110 per game Standard tips for caddy are about USD$10 All courses are walking. Ask push slice how he felt after finishing 18 holes walking at Song Be. The places I have played in are : Song Be Golf Resort Twin Doves GOlf Long Thanh Golf Resort Dong Nai Golf Club Vietnam Golf & Country Club Sea Links Golf Club Ocean Dunes All located in South Vietnam. If you can, play int he central and north of vietnam during year end. Weather is about 20*c. Check out the pictures at the start of this thread. It should give you a rough idea of how it is. Maybe its time for you to come up to vietnam for a game or 2.

| Check out my FR on earlier pages on Song Be.
really it's not just the golf, it's golf and makan or drinks or sing song or simply hanging out with Winston pre or post golf that makes the trip a winner!
