| some suggestions and many 2 cents to throw....
1) it's impossible for all to play on the same day (due to timing/location/etc) so perhaps a 2 day affair is required. (i think it shld be able to fit in majority golfers)
2) to play in 2 different places? (i believe we might have some msia memb tht might not be able to play in SG or even some w/o PC can't play in SG too) but this is tough, unless you guys can agree of 2 different course(SG/msia/indo?) but with similar or close course rating - to be fair for all
3) $$$ to be collected will be a big headache if different course / date played. so i feel perhaps we can determine the course selected, get the cost (green) and add in the "standard" cost. etc Standard Cost : 20 (charity) + 30 (participation) + XX (not sure wat else needed). so everyone just need to pay for the course fee (depends on where n when you play, it will be different) plus the "standard fee"
4) As for the makan session, i believe maybe you guys can have it after the 2nd day or even after a week where all scores have been tabulated. We can even have the lucky draw on tht day too. (enough time for the committee to prepare everything). location wise, is BFG big enuff? i think still depends on no. of golfers to turn up.
5) Scoring format, system 36? (i think for this, many lau jiao here have better options ba.)
Hope everyone have a good competition, enjoy and have fun.
cheers

| I think if its charity open, then it cannot be a two days affair. How much you want to play in the game will determine how much effort you will put in so that you can adjust our timing to cater for the game. ANd some find playing golf in SG on weekend is too expensive and normally weekends and are unable to have private games in most of the clubs in SG or MY.
So its lies in each individual how committed they are to the touranment. Its not every week that we have such a game so I thinking making special arrangements just for this one day won't hurt.
SO lets all makes things easy for the organisers so that we can kick off this game and we do not have much time left.
Just my 2 cents..... | |

| I agree. It's impossible to accommodate everyone. I think the organizers should proceed with organizing and getting the game set-up. If you can attend, then please do so. If you can't, there'll be many other opportunities in the future What impressed me the most was the feedback and willingness of people to participate. Play or not, it shows that we've got friendly golfers with good hearts | |

Hi Jake, Thanks for the suggestions, we will definately think thru the process as I believe your suggestion are mirrored by many. In terms of item 1: We will endeavour to make arrangements for a 1 day affiar. whereby all who have signed up can make it. this will be hard as some of us have family commitments. Some of us actually have multi family commitments. Yes, JC, we know about your Batam thingy!!! item 2: playing in 2 difference corses doesnt really make sense... We may work at a shot gun start so that we can take all flights in at the same time. This will make the game a real early starter, but I guess for golf, it will be okay. item 3: collecting money isnt a problem with us... while we are all very nice people, we arent "that" nice!!! O$P$!!!! We will try to get "i" to help us here. I am reading its a new trend to solicit the help of the young. item 4: We will try to keep the makan session in the same day... so that we can collectively laugh at the really screwed up plays of the day. The makan is secondary, its the tcss and laugh at a specific person that is more important to us!!! fyi: if we are nice, S70B will may be performing his famous "butt wiggle, grip, re grip, butt wiggle" pre shot prep for us to see.. item 5: that gets left to the committee, we are trying to make it as unfair for everyone as possible. Then it will reach a point whereby it is equally unfair, thus fair for all... But as a member of the committee, we are more concern about stray balls hitting people then scoring... Please no side bets on who hits who, how many times!!! Such bets must be discussed openly and wagers fixed before start of play. Since everyone is using the "my 2 cents worth"... While donations have no upper limits; there are lower limits!!! please be mindful that the morderators have bad tempers and if the donations come in coins... S70B may not do his butt wiggle for us!

| hi ppl... i am just suggesting so call "solution" to accommodate as many ppl as possible. but ultimately this gota decide by the committee. of course the best solution is 1 day, 1 place and shotgun start. follow by the makan cum tcss session is the best. if possible, there will be some cameras / viewcam on field... plus a projector if possile during the dinner.. then it will be perfect... cheers... | |

Current members of the committee:
Gman Sunny missmoon muarchee S70B Katherinechiok Siaw8(Gman cannot work without Siaw8...i wonder why ) Hi Sunny, can also consider Kranji, usually not so crowded. Time sheet t-off starting from 1st and 10th tees, NSRCC should be able to accomodate. Short gun is expensive (shotgun fees $2k) and you need to have enuf golfers.

How you think we got our special 'kill everyone' pin positions for our Thurs match? Captain, he is not the greens committee member, he is the green conveynor = chairman of the greens committee. So when it comes to green, he is the super big F#$%. hehehe..

| Ok. We had our committee meeting yesterday and we have decided on postponing the event to make it easier for us to organize and also for you folks to decide/plan whether to take MC or take leave.
Confirmed Date: August 21th, Friday. Participation Fee: $30 + Green Fee. Charity: Autism Singapore Venue: Kranji NSRCC, Warren, MBGC Format of Play: Some Stableford or Peoria System.
$30 will straight go into our donation to the Charity and any additional donations are welcomed.
The 3 courses that we short-list are chose based on the friendliness of the course and considering that we have pros to hackers here. Green fees are approximately between the range of $90s to $110s.
Based on this confirmed date, we hope to at least be able to confirm the number of participants so that we can make bookings accordingly. We will try to make Green Fee available to you by tomorrow and payment and cut off date will be July 24th so that we can quickly tie all this up. We need some extra lead time to confirm with the course and make sure our financial ass are covered as the committee cannot afford to underwrite this time round.
Only registered members of this forum are eligible to join this game. So the number count starts again. Pls only put down your nick when you are confirmed to pay.
