| There was an unknown spectator muttered this in the sideline re TW's current state of condition ...
"I don't enjoy watching Tiger struggle - at all. But, you are correct. Something is definitely wrong with this guy, emotionally, physically and mentally. Maybe a prolonged break from the game. He obviously has the ability, though fading with age. He just can't pull himself together, and often looks like a weekend golfer out there. Reminds me of David Duvall when things started going badly. He didn't just go backwards - he disappeared as a professional player. I'm certainly no golf pro... nor do I have any clue what it takes to be one. But something has to change inside his own head. These types of repeated performances have to be killing him inside. Fans will always be fans, and that's great. But, for the sake of his own current condition, perhaps a hiatus is in order. My son just started playing competitive golf. He is 13, and has a natural swing, and loves to watch the game. He asked the other day "why do they keep talking about this guy - he isn't even very good?" That made me sad to hear, and it was difficult to explain how good he once was. A whole new generation is watching now - and the commentator's "longing for what once was" is falling on increasingly deaf ears." | |

| The leaderboard was very crowded ... The difference in strokes among the players at the top of the leaderboard was very minute ... In the past Open Championships, the winning margin were significant ... It was difficult to zero in the eventual winner during final round ... In other words, it was not very obvious ... Many thought DJ could pick up his first major championship but it looks like his putter has failed him ...
