Cutting Scotty Putter Shaft

Dear all,

I have intention to cut my blade putter from 34" to 33". Choke down is not my option.
Therefore, may i know is it adviceable to cut and will it impact to overall weight ?

Hi,

Cutting the shaft will affect the swing weight. You can change the weight from 15g to 20g on your Scotty to bump it up. The original weights is not cheap. Aftermarket weights with wrench will cost you some money too. Cheaper alternative is lead tape but it is ugly. Also, bear in mind that the resale value might be affected. If this is a keeper or with sentimental value, you may go ahead with the shortening. If given a choice, I will sell it and buy a 33inch same model. I think that will be more cost efficient.

Alamak bro.. i wanna extend from 33-34. We swap shafts la haha. 

Have you found a fitter that can balance the putter properly for you? or are you just intending to get the shaft cut by just any fitter out there? 

Reason i'm asking is cus i'm toying with the idea of extending my 33" putter.
