GARMIN APPROACH G6

Hi golfers, need some help on golf gps.

i wanted to check if any golfers uses the garmin approach g6
are they really good and how much can i get one from Singapore
cause amazon is selling like 259USD.

i will like to get some opinion cause i don't like to wear they watch type of gps so is garmin approach g6 the better option for me?

I'm using the G6 and they don't bring to singapore 

Been using of almost a year. So it speaks for itself

I online bought a refurbished G6 3 months ago. Total cost about S$280. It is a good GPS device for golf with almost all courses in Singapore. However, I find the screen too small for my longsighted eye. If anyone is keen, please SMS or Whatsapp 86837616. Thanks.

meaning to say got some defects or some function not working

The device is ok. Slightly cheaper than new one.

Did you get it from the States?

yup got a mate there to purchase for me its 258usd 
but need to add in taxes n shipping which he will let me knw later
the warranty is international thats what he ring and ask

I think it's one of the best GPS gadgets around

It's jus unfortunate that garmin Asia don't bring in

And also the new G8 doesn't present better value for the price difference versus the additional functions

The only vibes I have is that the gadget is a bit slow when playing overseas. 

And sembawang course still have been updated despite the latest maps update

Bro, what is the release version of the CourseView Pacific on your G6 after the latest maps update? And does it now include Sembawang CC?

For some reasons, the Garmin site only updated the CourseView Americas to 4.20 on my device but left the other maps untouched.

1. how can I make sure I got the most updated courses in my g6. 
2. where can I download the updates
3. how do I do that. is it just connect the g6 with the comp?

1. Check your map version versus the latest on the garmin website
2. go to garmin website. go to the section on updates
2. plug in your garmin, download the latest maps (mac or windows), run the program and the garmin will be updated automatically


so far i used for more than 1 year and i just updated once.

Hi! I wanna tag on a question. Please pardon me bro kkhh1978. I was at the garmin website and when I tried to order approach g6 it has the option of area. But the drop down only shows South America. Are there supposed to be other options or it's only one option but it's loaded with courses from all over the world?

Go to garmin website. 

Find the portion where they state participating course and find Asia

All the course are listed there

When u get the gadget, you need to link to the computer and update the maps. But before that you have to download Asia maps if I remember rightly

Then u can use Asia and Singapore courses

Anyway I ordered mine from golfsmith almost 2 years ago

Bro some updates on the updating of map.
I downloaded this program call Garmin Express
Once you have it installed in your computer and launch it, connect your g6 approach to the comp and they will auto detect.
It will then do an auto sync to see if there are things needed to be updates. Such as firmware, maps.

I just did mine and it says firm ware need to update and Coverage of Pacific Map need to be upgraded.
Hopefully after this upgrade, I will be able to get the new SCC course layout.
Currently it's in the midst of downloading so has to take about 20mins

I just confirm no SCC course
it's 3.3

I wrote in an email to garmin
hopefully they will do something about it

it doesn't come with "free lifetime course updates"?
