Taylormade Golf SLDR Irons & SLDR S Metal Woods

Anybody surprised???? lol, new equipment announced today from TMAG with the SLDR name, this time, SLDR IRONS and the SLDR S line of metal woods!

the irons actually look VERY good... clean lines and not that much offset... these will slide in between the tour preferred CB irons and speedblades in the TMAG line of irons. fairly thin top line, as well as the new thruslot technology that is cut all the way through the sole so that it is open from bottom to top of the cavity (a compliant polymer fills the opening to enhance feel and prevent debris from filling the slot). the face is not as hot as speedblades... main idea for this set of irons was to focus on FEEL and consistent distances for the irons (gapping control)

the SLDR S line of metal woods....... i guess the jetspeed line is officially dead? haha, but the SLDR S driver is more or less the same, however, it is NON ADJUSTABLE and will be offered in several high loft options (10, 12, 14, 16). the faces of the woods are a little shallower as well. because there is no adjustability offered, this line of metal woods will actually be cheaper than the original SLDR driver.

the new line of metal woods will also feature a SATIN SILVER finish, which looks really good. at THE PLAYERS this week, all TMAG staff will have a "silver out" day--silver clothes, pants, bags.... everything! and their own SLDR drivers (original SLDR, not SLDR S) will have a silver finish to promote this new line of metal woods.

Irons still ok. 
But the metalwoods series? Same old thing even though TM removed the adjustable mode. 
Is it tat TM die fm design concept?

Those irons don't look forgiving, most probably for better players.

Usually the SLDR is associated with loft up and low spin, why are the irons named after it then?

Actually not sure what the woods and hybrids got to do with it as well. Lol.

i think that new thruslot technology will really help to make the sldr irons as forgiving as the speedblades or even the tour preferred cb irons. 

i think they will be easier to hit than they look! give it a whack when you can and let us know what you think! june 6 is release date (in north america) for all these new sticks!

just saw this which might give us some more insight on the sldr irons.... they're cast though, i'd probably still go for the tour preferred mc/cb combo

Looks like the improved version of the callaway X series irons combined with Cobra amp cell vibration damper, speedblades ....

Will try out at demo days when it is available...
