| PocketAce, I've had my fair share of silly marshals but my last few games there have been OK. I think they've toned down a bit. As for water coolers, I agree - it's silly not to have a water dispensing facility for golfers. It's almost overly selfish.
That said, I don't mind. I think MBGC is a decent course given it's location and the limited number of public courses in Singapore, i.e. just one.

| @pocketace; hmmm, give credit where/when it's due. Same for negative feedback. I see no reason why marshals are allowed to be rude when they're discharging their duties. Maybe managment has been sending the wrong signals to their staff; rudeness has no place in any organisation let alone one that's being built with public money! More feedback should be given to management &/or NTUC; let's not tolerate such behaviour. But we must also remember to be gracious, remember to say our thank you"s" & give credit when it's due. Hopefully these marshals would reciprocate & we'll all enjoy our game better...... | |

| Yes, I have to agree the MBGC course condition puts some pte clubs in sg to shame. For a public course, course condition is really good no doubt We gotta take the good with the bad, I guess.
Now back to the topic of bunkers, I think all the above are good suggestions how to tackle these pot bunkers. It's part and parcel of playing a links style course. It affects golfers of all playing abilities. One good drive but a bad bounce will find your ball rolling into a bunker. Just watch British Open and see how the professionals play out from them. They also have to take the medicine at times, ie hit backwards

| They are so difficult, I try and hit out at the lowest lip, if it doesn't work especially to save time and energy I throw it out. My energy is better spent on playing

| For me I confirm drop a stroke once ball in bunkers. . So my game there is really dependant on how well I avoid the bunkers on that day. ..
Hahaha. .. | |

I'm taking my ex boss (from overseas)there to play this Sunday Hope I won't let him down Bro Just played a practice round on Monday.. The green was great, not our usual sandy beach.. Fairway was as usual, good condition too.. But... Having had bad experiences before, I strongly suggest calling to check with the Golf Managers there (Wendy or Jeffrey perhaps) whether they are going to do anything to the greens this weekends... Have fun bro !

| Ok....now's my turn to rant. I believe, another will follow so. hahaha Had a game earlier at MBGC with some gorgeous kakis! Fabulous blokes with great sense of humour and generally a great bunch to golf with. What more when you got a front VIP seat to watch someone showing you how to hit 1 under for 1st nine. But I digress. Those bunkers at MBGC really peeved people, that I agree. But really, it is still down to the golfer. Knowing how treacherous the bunker can get, I still elected to use a lob wedge to get out of one at hole 14..... ,,,,to dismal results; 3 to get out in an effort to clear the 'high' wall of the bunker when a simple 1 out sideways would have served me better. Kuku me! I will be back to take revenge, bunkers of MBGC! | |
