| hi i have the garmin s3. it is reliable for the course i play ie palm villa.
s2 is the cheaper version - just that there is no touch screen. i would imagine that everything else is the same ie gps chip etc. otherwise if you are on an open field, it should be reliable enough. however battery life is just enough to complete 33 holes (for the S3).

| Hi Bought mine at the IT fair fr Navicom. They are a garmin distributor. You might get a special deal at the coming IT fair. I have also seen it at Challenger (Funan) and at Isetan. | |

you can look under brand - garmin here.
this was the price in dec 2012 at the sitex fare. $439.
remember that for the S3, there is a us version and an asia version. only the asia version has preloaded asia courses. the us version will not have the asia golf courses preloaded.
no idea whether the S2 has both the asia and the us versions.

| today's papers - selling $439 at IT fair at marina bay sands by navicom. as to whether it is more reliable - as stated earlier in thread - the two do correspond quite closely. remember that the gps usu gives distance to the centre of the green while your laser will point at the pin. as to pros and cons - please see other threads by other forum members. hope this helps. | |

| And if you have your NS45 vouchers, it will be either $80 or $100 off. I think Navicom is a participating company. Not sure if it applies to use at IT Show though... | |

| It is by default meters. Can be set to yards
You can move the pin position every hole to get the exact yardage
