| Well that was enlightening somewhat. I think more in the principles of physics, Force = mass x acceleration. So with your acceleration more or less a constant what's left is finding your optimum mass to maximize stability and rate of acceleration. Correct me if I'm wrong.
You can tell I'm bored on a Friday... Heheh

| i like the last line which states 'But please, don’t play the stock shaft unless it’s a good fit for you.' Problem is that most ppl dun bother taking their heads out and try on other aftermarket shafts and after some time they get used to the stock shaft and reckons its a good fit ..... | |

| Then again, some students "like me" with no capital resort to stock shafts because a good one will set me back quite a bit *excuses* | |

| Actually, if u discard the data point with driver carry of 154 yards, it is consistent that lighter shaft has longer carry.

| Well, if stock shaft feels good, can find f/w and decent distance, so it's a good fit, so why Not?
Can save $ and all.
But knowing most golfers, we all have itchy backside syndrome residing in us.

| Saw from the link... "The weight of the shaft is going to help keep the player’s swing on plane."
I had this slight problem of back swing a little too flat... Which seems to be not on plane... Could it be that my shaft or club weight (irons) it's too heavy?

| I recently switched back to my stock Project X 5.5 shaft (and also had it tipped) for my driver because I felt my aftermarket shaft was heavier and slowed my swing speed.
End result: 1. Swing speed back up (as tested on flightscope) 2. Tighter dispersion 3. Got the CPM I wanted 4. Distance I wanted
So I guess it's combination of factors.
Long story short, Get fitted with a club fitter you are comfortable with.
