wedge : longer grip ? or cut down the shaft

being on the green i found out good lies and bad lies and some are abit tough i had to choke down to the point i had 1 hand on the shaft other on the grip esp when u have the ball nearer to u than ur feet Eg. standing on the green side bunker ball on the lip of the bunker and i standing in the bunker .....

few weeks ago i came across the lamkin wedge grip which is an inch longer .went to a few fitters because of it's a new product no 1 bring it in yet . 1 particular fitter told me y not cut down the shaft ???


so here's the question have the versatility of a longer grip by an inch or cut down the shaft by a inch ???
