A longer shaft for more distance? Maybe not Empty

Good Morning Folks

Probably a topic we discussed in the past. But I just came across this article... a bit long, but quite interesting, thought I share it.

I fondly recall I was hitting my 44.5" Ping G15 much better (and possibly longer) before I sold it recently

My current driver(s) all stand at 45.5" not the longest by today's standards as some of you are probably swinging your big dogs at 46" or more

This article probably explains why with the tests done.

another interesting story from Tom Wishon related to this topic

how long do you play your drivers??

Looking forward to club fitters like DGman & SigmaOne to probably chime in with their 2 cents

I am pondering the same topic recently.

I just changed from a 45.5 inch driver to a 44 inch. Definitely feel more confident on the tee box and swing more freely. On the average, I find more fairways. However, my best hits are still 10-20 meters shorter than my best hits with my old shaft.

Long hitters will probaby pick accuracy over distance. But I am a short hitter, thus my dilemma. My plan now is to stick to white tees with my 44 inch driver and focus on other parts of my game.
