| hi bro and sister, pls give me some tips base on your past experiences for what a flight of newbie would probably overlooked on their 1st 18holes. apart from bring more balls, book a cabby, dont be too excited over every little single thing, importantly must relax and enjoy, what are the others dos and donts? | |

You mean Caddy right - Don't slow down the back flight - Don't forget to put the flag stick back in the hole (I've seen it happen) - Repair Divots and rake your bunkers Have fun!

| Are you going with at least 1 non-newbie in your flight? Enjoy your game and watch out for any flight behind. Just in case, play pace is not up to speed and behind catch up. Watch out for "in-coming" balls. (my early few game, an impatient flight of long hitter landed a ball just under 10m behind us)

| you already covered most of it. just remember that it is only a game and do not lose your cool over some lost balls in the bushes or water.
the only thing that i can think of seriously is be aware of your surroundings and don't hold up play for the behind flights. if necessary, pick up the ball, drop the ball further up ahead and try again! you do share the course with others as well.

| if playing in singapore... ur captain shd control timekeeping and pace... be aware of flight behind and flight infront.. can be v stressful if marshals come and chase u on... Your first 18holes on course in JB on a weekday would be less stressful and more enjoyable in this regard... | |

| Arrive early for tee time. Better still have sufficient time for some warm up. Remember to bring: Balls, Tees, water, sunblock.
Most important, relax and check pace of game. Enjoy.

| Don't feel more stressed after reading all the advice above.
Enjoy the game, don't worry about big numbers. Cheer your good shots and laugh at your bad ones, it will help you relax.
Tell your group you are new and don't be afraid to declare that you decide to pick up and drop especially after 2 tries in the bunker.
Have fun. | |

| Bring a change of clothes!!!! My first ever game... I never bring an extra set. It rained heavily... head to toe totally wet!!! Had to buy clothes from the golf shop....
And mostly... just have fun... and whatever you do on the range... is totally useless on the course!!! hahahhaha....

| So many things to remember.... but it will all come naturally to you as you play more. My one cent: Be aware of other's line on the putting green. Avoid stepping on the line between your flight mate's ball / marker and the cup. Enjoy! | |

| Try not to use new ball if you are still a beginner. Painful to lost new balls ..
Always practice good golf etiquette and learn them well before going into course. Safety consideration for other players Pace of play Priority on the course care of the course
If possible, try to play with at least one experience player if it is one 1st time. I think pace of play usually the major problem for beginner as they are still unable to hit their ball well enough. Sometime it is good to just pick up the ball and move on if another flight is waiting behind.

| Look out for monkeys nipping from buggy and also lookout for snakes when searching for balls (bring a club along and swing swing) | |

| Don't put too much pressure on yourself.
The last time I tried to quick up and stay on pace, I ended up running more than golfing. Ended up sweating buckets and were tired by 5th hole or something.
Water is very impt! | |

I think another point to note when on green is to not drag your feet, need to lift your feet up ... sometimes may forget that the shoes are with spikes.
